Bro medicine is overrated. I know two doctors who are currently jobless. I know another who's underpaid in a private hospital. Is not easy anywhere. Na to go north sure pass for doctors because Northern states easily employ doctors. No course is passport to wealth. Is just grace.

it is not overrated. Without a doctor how can you even be in Nairaland. Nigeria is overrated, a scam designed by the british. If i was a doctor i would emigrate to saner climes were my practice is rewarded.

Yes, a doctor may never be rich, but as a doctor compared to every other profession in Nigeria you are least likely to be unemployed. Yes they're unemployed doctors but compared to other graduates the odds are favourable.

Oga am not a doctor and I never wanted to be.
Am an engineer and I don't even work with my cert. I resigned from my previous work and I have a good business that's paying me extremely well and am expanding too. I employ people that work for me. If I decide I stay in the house for days and my business moves. Sometimes I taught of working again not just for money but to use my cert.
I'm not bitter. Is the reality of life I'm telling you. If you are a doctor or aspiring, my comment didn't meant to demoralize you. Yes the odd is favourable to doctors in terms of employment and that is not what we are disputing. I made that comment because some are asking why will a doctor decide to join military.

In what ever you do, grace is better.

[ Bros, everybody is trained as infantry in the military before you will now be deployed to the various corps...medical, education, signals, armour, artillery,chaplain etc. In war zone, an army priest or imam must carry his rifle together with his Quran or bible. A doctor too must carry his weapon together with his medical duties. You defend yourself and the enemy doesn't care whether you're imam, doctor or pastor. BH sees everybody as enemy so far you're on uniform. ]
