An Eye Opener To The Wrongs In The President Speech On Ballot Box Snatching by Medley(op):
I saw with dismay how so called educated Nigerians that want to stand at par with democratic Nations, with full portrayal of it quintessential tenets, support the statement of the president and castigated anybody that disagrees ashaving inherent support for illegality which is ballot box snatching.

This are the wrongs that you may not have noticed

1. It's an unpresidential statement in a Democratic Nation

If the president can result to fuelling this approach to solving the myriad of problems we are facing as a Nation in a Democratic Nation where we have the legislature, Judiciary and the Executive who have the power to prosecute Election offenders once they've been found guilty then he shouldn't be a president in a Democratic Nation.

2. Two wrongs will never make it right

Trust Nigerians, to vent the anger of every of their problems on any perceived person whether confirmed or not, and set them ablaze with fire and acid. This is not how to solve issues, the wrong people may be killed unjustly, even before they do any meaningful explanation.

Thousands of security operative have been deployed to various polling unit and they are expected to arrest and prosecute this offenders.

3. This outburst is making it seem that the APC will not partake in this illegality even when we know how this kind of ballot snatching happens in state that some of his high profile political campaign heads are leaders. They even have known thugs that terrorise areas in order to deliver votes during Elections, are they also going to be hit with the sledge hammer or will they be exempted, won't it be like the partial corruption fight that major journalist both internationally and nationally have spoken about, little wonder why the major opposition party had to speak against it.

4. Lastly, it seems the president is not sure of winning. Are the numbers still favourable because if they are there won't be need for this unnecessary outburst, where Jungle justice is being openly supported for offences that have been duly captured and the punishment spelt out in the law for Elections offenders.

5. Won't Innocent people be shot

Considering how crowded some polling unit may be, is there no possibility that in the process of trying to shoot the ballot box snatchers hope innocent people won't be shot, hope we will not hear cases of stray bullet, won't this further affect the turnout of voters who won't want to be mistakenly shot and prefer to stay back at home.

What then is the need for this outburst? Why should this be supported? This kind wasn't said in all the killings that happened in the North Central between Herders and farmers, the president only said they will be brought to book, why is it different now? Is the book now full?

6. The president can't settle for self help when they are laws stipulated for electoral offenders

As stipulated in:

Section 129 (4) of the Electoral Act states, “Any person who snatches or destroys any election material commits an offence and is liable on conviction to 24 months imprisonment.”

In terms of electoral violence, the act stipulates in Section 131 that anyone found culpable “is liable on conviction to a fine of N1,000, 000 or imprisonment for a term of three years.”

If this is not sufficient enough then the law makers are there.

Why Buhari's Shoot at Sight Order Is Coup Against the Electoral Act

I find it very worrisome that President Buhari is once again attempting to rape our laws like he had always done in the past ..

In 1983 is raped our laws by illegally removing an elected democratic govt despite what our constitution said about the ways a Nigerian President could be removed..

Just recently Buhari again attempted to use the the DSS to forcefully remove the Legislative leadership contrary to what out constitution stated .

Again the president tried to remove a serving CJN and appoint his own using imaginary powers he didn't have a problem that has now left our Judciary in tatters with with two CJNs

Why Today's Call Is Another Attempt to Suspend The Electoral Act.

The Nigeria Electoral Act is a set of laws that govern the conduct of Nigerian elections and there is no where in that electoral act where the death penalty is suggested for any Electoral crime at all, in Fact the law is even very clear on the fate of Ballot Snatchers under it and I quote

Buharis statement is nothing but a clear suspension of our electoral act, infact a coup against the electoral act that was put in place to protect the electoral process and by making such a statement Buhari is attempting to suspend the act to give rise to anarchy and Jungle justice which will eventually cumulate into gross human rights abuse and intimidation of voters significant enough to alter the result of the exercise in Buhari favour..

Buharis statement must rejected by anyone who has a conscience and the fear of God .

If you don't have plan to steal ballot box then bros you shouldn't be worried about what happens to thieves. Just go out vote and go home simple. Do you know the effect of a stolen mandate on the masses?

I don't have plans to steal Bread on the road, I am bigger than that morally and financially, but I will frown at any statement that support immediate Jungle Justice on anyone found guilty for stealing bread, let the law take It's course and if the person is found guilty let him face the wrath. Is this too difficult to understand!!!

I understand but you know what ? With all this corrupt judges in our judiciary before justice will reach this thieves many would have died from bad roads, poor healthcare facilities, so many jobs lost and not created due to corruption and many dreams and aspirations would have been lost due to the effect of thieve in power stealing what belong to all of us. Am all for due process but sometimes you need to put the fear of God on some people to get things done right. By the time one or two face jungle justice the rest wil learn or charge politicians higher when they know what's involved and there by making rigging un-attractive.
