Arewa soldiers proliferated states every nook and cranny of the former northern region to make Arewa persons win Nigeria presidential elections, to draw in more money to Arewa from federal allocations.


Land mass or population is never used as yardstick to determine where and how many new political units, like States or local government areas, can be created in any region of a country formed by diverse regions.

There should have been more States in the southern regions than in the northern region after Abacha created the last batch of states.

As long as Osun is not on the list, then this list is rubbish

You can be doubly sure that the Northern Nigeria will top in all the Negativities... poverty, illiteracy, terrorism, drug addiction, child marriage, out of school children, population explosion, violence, riot killings, political thuggery. ... just name it.


And yet the North has produced more Presidents and Heads of State than any other part of Nigeria with nothing to show for on their people and region.
And yet still, even with the high rate of illiteracy in the North, they still get the juiciest of government jobs and appointments.

I am not understanding the North.

I really don't believe any state is poor, it all boils down to mindset of the citizens and how well they utilize opportunities.

3. Adamawa State
In 1991, Adamawa State emerged from the previously existing Gongola State and recently, it is one of the Northern States already devastated by Boko Haram sect. Due to this terrorist devastation, Adamawa suffers from poor rates of economic growth and economic development. Although Yola –the capital city of Adamawa State –is under transformation and is currently equipped with amenities such as traffic lights, street lights and motorable roads, Adamawa State lags behind due to the poor rates of development across its various other areas.

As obtained from the National Bureau of Statistics, Adamawa State is associated with a poverty rate estimated at 74.2%.

I thought Atiku was from Adamawa, until someone said he's from Cameroon. However, he spend his lifetime in Adamawa. How is it possible that the Adamawa people are 3rd poorest people in Nigeria? Atiku was head of economic council and Vice President for 8years, a wealthy business tycoon, yet his people are the poorest.

The most mind boggling thing is that people still believe Atiku's presidency will empower them, give them jobs and lift them out of poverty.

Adamawa and katsina where the two major presidential candidates come from make the list,what a big shame. Presidential candidates from the poor states using monies stolen from the rich states to campaign and buy over people from the rich states;how messed up.
