Mr Akpabio showed less concern for the poor whom the present govt has rendered hopeless except there is a real change.

That NNPC is from where we finance our budget.
keep asking stupid question
We finance our budget from sales of Crude oil which unfortunately and intentionally been mismanaged by the 'NNPC'

Please be informed that the 'NNPC' has since become a cost center and theft conduit instead of the economic force multiplier that it was meant to be.

Your half awareness and bigotry may becloud your sense of reasoning but they certainly do not excuse your public display of foolery.

BUHARI'S SECOND TERM

Civil Servant or Public Servant should think twice before casting their VOTE. One factor is that at least 70% of ALLOCATION to STATES comes from NNPC.

IF eventually NNPC is sold to ATIKU's friends as promised, definitely your SALARY has being sold off, your JOB has being sold off. Think deeply. Thanks.

~Retired Biafran Army "Chinedu Madu" caution civil servant.

This election has the following in built factors:
The licenses of DISCOS have expired and the PMB’s government is to allow more companies to come in.

The OIL prospecting licenses of the Generals have expired and PMB is set to allocate them to the States for infrastructural development and thirdly and the most important the monopolistic license issued to INTELS with an annual revenue of N300 billion will expire in 2020 and PMB will not renew it. This has been the mainstay of Atiku. Wike and Secondus are also beneficiaries.

Therefore the elections is between the masses and those who have cornered our commonwealth.

If you are not their friend and you are supporting them without verifying these expiry dates of their economic dominance you have to think twice.

God bless Nigeria

apc accused pdp of crippling the nation for the past 16 years but they accomodated some former members of the pdp who were part of the 16 years misrule. Apc purge yourself of anyone that has anything to do with pdp in the past. Same old wine with a new label.

kahal29:
The National Coordinator, Presidential Support Committee, Senator Godswill Akpabio has insisted that considering the achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari -led administration in office, Nigeria has no other better alternative than to give him another term.

Akpabio, who spoke with Journalists in Abuja, urged the South South people to reconsider their stand in planning to vote for the party that wants to sell the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC), and its other assets.

Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential Candidate, has vowed to sell the NNPC, if voted into power, to break what he called ‘mafia’ in the corporation.

But Senator Akpabio said it will not be in the interest of the Niger Delta people for NNPC to be sold.

“Yes I believe Nigerians can compare the difference between apple and orange. The reality is that this president has done very well considering the fact that he was able to take Nigeria out of recession.

“He met ongoing projects on ground, such as the airports and the railways. He completed and put them to use. Nigerians are clamoring for change, better health care, better educational facilities and all those things cannot happen when you spend almost 80 percent of resources on recurring expenses like pension, salary arrears.

“So we must commend the President and of course, if you take a look at what is happening on the Lagos-Ibadan railway, you will be very impressed. Take a look at the Abuja-Kano railway, some people now travel with rail to the North.

“The power sector has improved from 2,500MW to 7000MW. So many things are visible and the enabling environment is there in terms of law and order. The fight against corruption has really been intensified and the good thing is that it has now become a deterrent to any public official that yes…, if you go out of your way to move your pocket forward instead of your country or state, you will be held accountable.

“We in the Niger Delta are very apprehensive. I don’t think that there is any person in the South South who will go and vote for PDP. Even some of them are trying to purchase votes because when you look at the major policy document of the PDP today, they are talking about selling the NNPC.

“What does the NNPC have? Is it the building? What NNPC controls is the oil of the Niger Delta, oil wells, oil fields and all those things come together with the land. I don’t see anybody from the South South or any Niger Deltan, who will agree that the same way we sold out Nigeria Airways and we became a laughing stock in the comity of states in Africa is the same way NNPC should be sold.

“Look at Kenya Airways, Ethopia Airline, Ghana Airline, South African Airways and Nigeria has no single plane now called its own. We sold out our Aluminium Smelter Company in Ikot Abasi, that provided thousands of jobs and today that place is totally bare with over 690MW of electricity.

“We sold out Oku Iboku Paper Mill in Akwa Ibom and our people are there jobless. That massive structure is a waste.

All those things combined are things that frighten us when somebody talks about the sale of NNPC. The sale of NNPC on its own simply means that the Niger Deltans are going to be divested of not just their properties, not just the water that they fish in, but the fact that they will become tenants in their lands for the next 50 to 100 years. And people will come from outside, maybe friends of the government, and possess their land.

“The election also is between integrity and others. The President has shown that he can give what belongs to Niger Delta to Niger Delta. He is even refunding monies that were used during my tenure to repair Federal roads and what we use to call Paris Club refund.

“We tried everything under the PDP. We never had that money and I was a Governor and the FG was owing my state over 145 Billion on federal roads and the building of prisons and other things I had to intervene. I dualized federal roads, built airport and today, federal government is refunding those monies to the state.

“If you see a government that has shown sincerity, it simply means that we are now talking about a question of integrity and a question of postulation. We are postulating that if you bring in a government that will sell your father’s land, that will sell your oil wells and sell the waters that you use in fishing, then I can conclude that there is no alternative to President Buhari.”

people like Akpabio who are against NNPC been sold to private investors are the real criminals who have been feeding fat on the monumental corruption in NNPC,now they are only trying to use the electorate to protect their illicit interests,we are often quick to make reference with the west but we don't want to emulate the west in economic policies n practice yet we desire to develop like them, Western economies are powered by the private sector while the government creates laws, policies n the environment for business to thrive, where is NITEL today compared to the GSM companies?,dangote petrochemicals will soon come on stream only God knows what will be the fate of NNPC there after, I'm 100% in support of Atiku's intent, the people of the Niger Delta stands to benefit more if NNPC is privatised n oil business booms in their region, but they can choose to be blinded by sentiments n propaganda n support the maintenance of the status quo, surely after the elections they shall continue to lament.

I'm always surprised when people on a faceless forum think it is OK it insult others to make a point and worst to insult others in defense of politicians with questionable morals.
I will not respond with the same filth you have shown above.

Part of NNPC's mandate is to manage our oil wells and sell oil, that is how we fund our budget and you want it sold to atiku and his friends?

sometime I really pray that the calamity people wish for will befall them unfortunately it is the 180mil nigerians who are largely ignorant that i pity because if atiku win, i'm sorry.

NNPC DESERVES TO BE SOLD AND PRIVATIZED. IT IS GOOD FOR COMPETENT HANDS TO MANAGE OUR PETROLEUM INDUSTRY, THEREBY BUILDING MORE REFINERIES FOR THIS COUNTRY.

Sell NNPC for what? To who? All the ones that were sold what good has come from them.

Some Nigerians don't like to think. A known criminal openly told you he will enrich his friends if he is elected. Then he openly told you that he is going to sell the biggest corporation in the country. But still some brainwashed people can't put two and two together to understand that the sale of the country's largest corporation is going to be to his friends just as he has said.

How on earth will the sale of NNPC benefit the common man? How many shares will the so called Atikulators be able to buy? Where do they think the total annual revenue running into billions of dollars will be going to after it is sold? And brainwashed people are still supporting such nonsense
Wait! Isn't el-rufai advising Buhari to do same? Or are you daft?

How does this your statement help your case?

Is buhari planning to sell NNPC? No

Will the planned sale by atiku be to commoners? No most likely privately owned deep pockets like the case of NEPA

I don't support people blindly and I am not a fan of El-rufai and I am not surprised he wants to sell NNPC after what he did as minister of FCT.

The fact that anyone would support such a decision only to prove a political points on nairaland is what I will consider daft

What kind of argument is this for Christ's sake. So if petrol prices goes up, it won't affect you? He wants to float the Naira, if he floats what do you think happens to the Naira?? The inflation will be out of this world. I'm not even saying you guys shouldn't support who you want to but are you guys really asking important questions. When NNPC is sold, what's the money going to be used for? Are we sure its going to be sold for what it's really worth? Cos if NNPC is treated how Atiku treated privatizing other government assets, then we're losing. Atiku has been part of the rot of this nation. Corruption and mismanagement got us here not Buhari. Buhari is there trying to compete abandoned projects and invest in infrastructure. This is the only way we can be truly prosperous cos it makes us independent

Mismanagement put us here, thieves. We should just try something else without asking questions. The suffer that'll hit eh. I keep thanking God everyday that my family and I have dual citizenship. I'm not saying this to be smug or not because I don't love my country but my fellow citizens scare me. You want someone that has a history of corruption to sell the nation's biggest asset because "try something else" once he sells, it's out of our hands. I'll say it again, you ppl are complaining about 145/ltr. It's ok, we'll soon join the rest of the world in paying the regular petrol price

Before you vote, just remember that Buhari told Nigerians that killer herdsmen are not from Nigeria, that they are from other West African Countries, but Buhari wants Nigerians to surrender/donate their ancestral land to the immigrant Fulani Jihadist herdsmen for peace to reign in Nigeria.

No single Fulani herdsmen has been prosecuted for all the killings they carried out and still carrying out,
