Amen o,compare to what that demonic party did for them, I remembered when my dad and some of his friends retired and went to Abuja to collect they gratuity, when they came back, during the night I saw my dad crying after spending half of his life serving this nation, what they paid him for serving more than 35 years was peanuts, I was in primary school then, since then I've hated the demonic party
Am just happy for your father that hes alive today to reap the fruit of his labour.

It is not that deep. What you're saying implies that Igbo's are sophisticated politically which is not true. Igbos have been voting for the PDP since 1999. Obasanjo didn't have an Igbo vice, neither did Yaradua or Jonathan. So, whether Atiku chose Peter Obi or not would not have been an issue for Igbo's because they would have still voted for PDP. If Igbo's cared so much about an Igbo running mate then they should have voted for Buhari on the two occasions when he had Igbo vice in Okadigbo and Ume Uzooke. Heck, they should have voted for Ojukwu overwhelmingly but they didn't . They are just PDP people. Heck, If Buhari ports yo PDP, they would vote for him. It's that funny. We're not that calculative as you imply. We just vote PDP and hate APC rhetorics.

Ibos can never become of Lagos. It can never happen. There is more chance of Hausa become Ebonyi state governor than Ibos becoming Lagos governor

Exactly bro, I believe the youths should also actively speak out via social media or any viable means against injustice by certain leaders, who seem to be colonizing the land in their own way

Maybe after this election if we Yorubas on Nairaland ain't too busy we can start pushing a consciousness/awareness movement and hopefully catch the attention of Yoruba leaders of thought outside of here.

While we identify proudly as Nigerians, we should also push for a system where our leaders are able to provide an enabling environment for the average Yoruba to develop his "omoluabi" -his Yorubaness to the full and bring that to bear on his nationalistic outlook and worldview.

Our political leaders and kings are busy savouring the sweetness of crude oil, forgetting that Pa Awolowo of blessed memory built the Yoruba land with proceeds from cocoa sales.

We Yorubas, youths and elders have folded our arms long enough. We shouldn't wait until outsiders repeatedly slap us in the face before we wake up and stay woke.

While we welcome every Nigerian irrespective of ethnicity and religion into our region to live and prosper and enjoy the fruit of the earth as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution, the development and progress of Yorubaland, I feel should be spearheaded and championed and pushed by Yoruba politico-socioeconomic leaders everywhere.

It is insane to leave this very important duty in the hands of our guests who don't understand the very principle of "omoluabi". Though, to be sure, it seems even we are forgetting what that means.

It is time to hold our leaders, councillors, local government chairmen, states and federal legislators, governors, religious, academic and royal leaders accountable to the office they occupy. This is the time to make them account for every kobo, every working hour they pretend to work for us.

This is the way forward for Yorubas and for Nigeria. Enough is enough. Ó TÓ GÉ.

Rothschilds for one are not there....my point is we are discussing political participation...Nigeria is federation....Hausas live in the East doing their business...selling cows, carrots, polishing shoes etc..but during voting they go home to vote...it is their choice...it is a free world...but the Igbo man in Lagos prefers to vote in Lagos...what is wrong with that? It is free world...you are pained that he had the guts to stay to vote and be voted for in Lagos which is a Yoruba State...

This is why we need to start working against these people. Yorubas need to wake up! Starting from my good yoruba people in Lagos state. We need to stop selling our lands to them. We've given them enough bragging rights, pls. Lagos belongs to us, not these bastards.

I watched Some aggrieved disenfranchised voters in okota on tv today. One of the protesters, a lady who spoke to channel's correspondent was saying that some hoodlums came to burn ballot boxes and that prior to that, "for every 100 votes, 99 was for pdp and 1 for apc". The others there were definitely angry too and nodding in agreement.

Now, I'm not saying the hoodlums were right, but this is to make a relevant point that okota is highly dominated by these piggies. This needs to stop, if not, a time time will come when the votes of piggies will count more than that of the yorubas.and the yorubas will become irrelevant in their own land. Something must be done fast. A word is enough for the wise.

Piggies won't hesitate stabbing you from behind, only waiting for the perfect time to attack.

I don't know how we got here. Is it because Nairaland is a faceless forum or we have simply lost all humanity. All these seeds of hate you and others are ignorantly planting up and down will consume us all if unchecked.
Think over issues before you speak.
