Is the son not supposed to have learnt this in school? What was he doing while his mates were learning it?
On social media?

How will the kid learn if Nairalanders keep solving his math problems for him?
How does this concern Nairalanders?
Why do Nigerians like nonsense?
receive sense the guy is going extra mile to prepare his son

It must be a typo error just like we have in the second attachment.

Why not use the latest edition, i believe it ll have less error

We have the newest edition....the person that pointed out the error used an older edition

help see if you can decode this questions.....thanks

I have gotten it, it just took me 2 minutes.

First and foremost, look for the side with the highest number.

For example 1.
Side 16 and side 4

so 164/2 = 82
The second side answer is 8, 2

For Example 2.

The side with the highest number is 6 and 2 which is 62.

so 62/2 = 31

the answer is 1,3

Example 3.
The highest side is 9,0 which is 90
so 90/2 =45
the anser is 4, 5

Hope you gat it.

Remember, the highest number must go straight with the answer highest number.

in Example 1.

16 goes the way 8

4 goes the way 2 in the Z pattern.

bye.

The second one is multiplication in modulo 7.
5 o 2 = (5 * 2) / 7
= 10/7 = 1 Remainder 3
= 3 (mod 7)

One rule is supposed to be used to solve all the samples..

In this case, I don’t think so but with wat someone did up there, that could be a solution for u but I still stick with mine

Thanks for putting this on the front page and thanks to all who have contributed....really appreciate.....kindly help to decode this also......

This is not intractable unlike the first one you posted

The number in circle raised to the power of the number above it, then the result is multiplied with the next number
i.e 4 ** 2 = 16, 16 * 3 = 48
1 ** 2 = 1, 1 * 3 = 3
5 ** 1 = 5, 5 * 4 = 20.

i think iv gotten the solution

modified.

you'll follow the letter "Z" either from the top to the bottom or vice versa starting from the smaller number to the bigger number. the 1st number + 2nd number + 3rd number would give you the last number.

And there are no errors in the questions.
Correct U get am

Same thing goes to number 4. U will add 7 ... until u get 84

Lol. I get.Someone has confirmed that there is an error in this one though. I take common entrance pupils as well and sometimes, I see a lot senseless questions when an author is trying to form "tough qiestions".
Sometimes, each question will have it's own different approach. Sometimes, each example given will be totally different .
If the second question is actually a modulo arithmetic, then it is over syllabus. Modulo arithmetic is supposed to be taught in Jss1/jss2.

Add all the numbers to your left hand side and divide the sum by the number in the triangle.

so for the example 1 : 8+4+12 = 24 divided by 3 = 8
example 2 : 6+5+9 = 20 divided by 4 = 5

Ex 3 : 15+10+24 = 49 divided by 7 = 7

so for the question 33 : 4+12+2 = 18 divided by 6 = 3

Using simple logic, the upper figure increases by a multiple of 3 while the lower bar decreases by subtracting 2

or your question 37, subtracting 2 from 7 gives 5
