Few days ago I was approached by my neighbours' ward,he was disturbed and looked restless.
He registered for the 2019 WASSCE, but lastweek discovered that some letters were added to his name.

He complained to one of his teachers, but according to the teacher "the misspelt name has already been registered online" , hence can not be changed"

He is in dire need of a possible solution that would prevent the erroneous name from appearing on his certificate.

please can the name be corrected when the exams commence? (maybe by explaining to the exerminer or supervisor) or through any other means?

Yes it can, but stressful

The school needs to write a letter stamped by the principal to waec (at ọgbà if in Lagos). You will also pay a token abt 2k.
The process is not stressful provided you make the correction before commencement of exams.

Google about it. I think WAEC gave the modalities for that, though it might be more feasible after the exams, before results releasal.
