An Open Letter To PDP Gubernatorial Candidate In Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde by kazzbab(op): 12:33am On Feb 27, 2019
Dear Sir, I'm pleased to inform you majority will actually vote you, including I. If our votes will count, that I can't say.

The issue now is, how are we to be sure you are aware of the reasons we are voting you in and voting out APC?

The few ones are:

1. We are tired of "excessive tax" in Oyo State. What are you planning to do on this sir?
Remember, most of us are voting out Ajimobi with his governorship candidate (who said he would continue from where his master stopped), because we don't want a continuation of "too much" of tax.

2. Lackadaisical approaches to farmers-herdsmen clashes. For those who don't know, fulani herdsmen are now killing, raping, rubbing and abducting here in Yoruba land, including Oyo State, YES.

Since, Ajimobi shares a political party with PMB, his being handicapped on this issue is understandable. We are tired of being shortchanged on our land by mere uncircumcised "animals in human skin" and we are also sure his candidate will continue from where he stopped, including being care-free on farmers' plight, possibly. This is another reason we are voting you sir, Eng. Seyi Makinde, believing you will be a man of your words, "omi tuntun".

3. Incredibly high governmental "dues and fees". Aside heavy taxes, whoever has dues or fees to pay to Oyo State government under Ajimobi, and has done same under previous governments, will agree with me that these dues and fees have doubled or tripled in most cases. For instance, to get a government approval for a private nursery school, before Ajimobi's tenures, #150,000 will go a long way. But now, you dare not initiate the process if you don't have up to #500,000 or you stop halfway, get the little you have spent forfeited and have to start all over again.
This is another reason we don't want a governor that will "continue" from where the last governor stopped.

Meanwhile, to be candid, APC's government have about 75% from me at federal level, and at Oyo State level, I'll give Ajimobi about 70% when it comes to infrastructural development.
What is Eng. Seyi Makinde's plan to maintain this masterstroke, or possibly surpass it, when he eventually becomes the governor?

I hope I've not asked too much questions and I also hope you, our would-be governor, Eng. Seyi Makinde can give an open reply to this open letter!

WAHAB K. Olanrewaju,
Ibadan,
Oyo State.

Pls, the appropriate PA's should help get this to Omi Tuntun and make him reply duly.

I'm very sure it will go a long way in reshaping people's decisions as touching the oncoming gubernatorial election.

For example, I was caught in a brief argument with some other educated colleagues, *some argued we supposed to go back to a former governor who was known for being "buje-budanu", rather than someone promising omi tuntun, which we are not sure of the content.*

Though I am not into politics and I've not met Eng. Seyi Makinde in person, yet, I argued in his favour and was able to convince a lot of people, due to my little post in my Church and place of work.

The only point used against me was if Eng. Seyi Makinde is actually ready to do all I said in his defence, *claiming a known devil is better than an unseen angel.*

Well, I felt like picking up my phone, putting a call through to him and letting people hear from the horse mouth, alas, I couldn't.

That was how I deemed it fit to write this open letter that maybe it can get to him and possibly reply.

I'm sure no leaf will drop off a tree without God's knowledge.

Thanks.

Seyi Makinde is loved by many. I hope the next election will be free, fair and credible, void of rigging like we experience in the just concluded Presidential ballot.

Oyo state is supposed to be a "pace setter" state... Please, help us to bring it back to its "pace setter" status.

We need businesses not only here in Ibadan the capital of the state but also in the small town and villages (Food processing companies in agricultural area of the state).

If possible, Oyo state should start generating its own electricity (can be done through use of any of or combination of coal, solar, wind or any suitable water body in Oyo state). Many young persions like me are tallented and gifted with skill to make legitimate income from the international business environment but were limited due to lack of power supply.

Many young persons are ready to learn one internet money making skill or the other but are limited due to lack of power supply.

Conversion of Ibadan, Alakia Airport to an International airport.

Please, do not forget LAUTECH, organise a result-focus committee to meet and discuss with the Osun state governor and bring an end to incessant industrial action in the Institution. I am an Alumni (class 2014) of the institution and I know how demoralising it can be to waste a lot of one's lifetime chasing B.Tech that is even obtainable in less than 4 year in some other countries for 6/7 years.

Please, creat several skill learning centers where young persons can learn proper skill which will enable them to create product and services that can compete with any other (of their colleague) all over the world. please, also create computer (harware and software) training centers.

Please, create many entrepreneurship program, where upcoming entrepreneurs can be trained, given loans, grant and or equity and then monitored in the progress of creating a successful business. (not like the scam, YOUWIN CONNECT where we were trained with the promise of equity investement by the government which later turns into a joke)

Please organise (and monitor) accessible loan or grant programs for farmers and also provide subsidized mordern farming material, tool, machines and implements. (Not like the FG fake Agric program where after I obtain farmland and paid about thirty thousand in other to access the the FG loan was told to forget about it that money has been diverted)

Build structures and infrastructure in the state (to attract investors). let us move forward and leave behind the mediocre praise of having Cocoa House in Ibadan. "Pace setter" should always be ahead. please, look beyond Nigeria and lets copy the good things from from other sane clime and incorporate in Oyo state.

When the talk of infrastructure and education is been discussion I always noticed the name of Obafemi Awolowo is in mention. That is what they call legacy... start immediately to create a good legacy so that even if its one term you will use as governor... the legacy will still be registered and strong in the mind of people.

Oyo pensioners...

market women

And don't involve yourself with blame trading as we have in the present rulling government.. irresponsible people knows how to do nothing but to blame other for their ineptitude.

Work with committee of young persons, please, donot inflate budgets... prove to the people of Oyo state that democracy still exist.

The people of Oyo state love and want you!

please recheck my letter, I never said paying tax is bad, just that too much of everything is BAD.

secondly, the massive projects were too much to be ignored, and I credit APC government for that in my argument.

just that, a more reasonable government would have long criminalised the incessant killings of farmers and some other tribes long before now. what is a good road and 24hrs electricity when those that supposed to enjoy them are being slaughtered like goats without the slaughterers being termed terrorists and drastic actions taken against them? rather, they are claiming more farmlands and regions everyday and we are pretending things are going fine.

Just ignore him, Gov Ajimobi stepped on many toes, made many enemies & didn't manage the primary well at all, he also has a razor sharp tongue that has ruined many relationships & alliances...

I'm sure you didn't miss this in his post, so chill. wink

But I think APC will still win. From now till the election, there will be alignment and realignment which will tip the pendulum towards the APC a little bit. The margin will be really close but I think APC will win
