Nigeria Election: What We Expect From Buhari’s Re-election – Theresa May by Nkemakonam62(op): 7:39am On Feb 28, 2019
UK Prime Minister, Theresa May has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his re-election

Buhari, on Wednesday, was declared winner of presidential 2019 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for defeating his close rival Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Prominent and well-meaning Nigerians, as well as African leaders, have since been commending and congratulating Buhari over his victory in the election.

Theresa May, reacting to Buhari’s victory congratulated the president on his re-election.

May in a terse statement expressed optimism in future UK-Nigeria relationship following Buhari’s victory.

The statement read: “Congratulations Buhari.I witnessed first-hand the importance of the UK-Nigeria relationship during my trip last year

“I look forward to continuing our close partnership and strengthening our shared prosperity and security.”

From my little observation, I believe Nigeria -before Buhari assumed office in 2015- was already at a point of explosion due to the heavy mismanagement of funds by almost all the past governments. It was just a matter of time before it exploded irrespective of who assumed the office, it was meant to happen. All Nigeria needs right now is a good manager, which Buhari is doing arguably fine. And it's understandable to see some people wanting to rise against the Buhari force. How do you expect a system built on corruption, one that knows nothing but corruption, how do u expect it to support the fight against corruption? Nigeria needs overall hauling and cleansing, a long term one. But I tell you, Buhari is our best deal right now. Buhari, a Nigerian ready to fight corruption(a quality Atiku and the other oldies lack), who has been in d game of politics for a very long time(a quality Sowore and the new guys in the game lack)
