Is It Normal To Feel Afraid To Start A New Job by Amicable22(op): 1:08pm On Mar 07, 2019
Hey everyone.. It has been very tough getting a job. In fact I don suffer.
Finished service early last year..I have been struggling and searching for a good job. I succeeded in securing a job and I was paid peanuts (real peanuts o). I'm currently on another job and I'm earning peanuts too (a lil better than the former).

Got a breakthrough recently with one BIG investment bank..it is not major, but its definitely an upgrade.

The thing is, I just have this fear (I can't really put into words exactly what my fear is), I don't know why it is happening with this particular job.

PLEASE IS THIS NORMAL??..
Has anyone experienced something like thishuh

Please help me..
Thanks family...

You're thinking if you made the right choice and if you'd excel at the job and never make any mistakes. These are quite normal. Just do you and you'd actually be laughing back at a time like this. Lol

Your fear might not be far from this.
1. Do I really have what it takes to crack this job role? Chill, you have more than that. Hit the office with that I-can-do spirit.
2. Maybe in theory, you are good which you must have displayed at the interview. Then you might be afraid if you can match 2 above with real life problems.
The good news is, You can do all things.

Chill bro, Its so normal.

I felt same way too when i got my current role in an international organisation. I did well at the interview and secured the job amongst 18 candidates.

In my case, I would say i got so struck by the repute of the organisation and at the initial stage kept imagining "small me" working for such a global organisation.

Truth is, I just applied and never thought i would be invited for an interview talk more of securing the job. Little wonder after the documentation and all, reality doned on me and it felt like i was dreaming and this resulted in some fears of the unknown hunting me.

Despite the initial deep fears of whether i could meet up with the demands (as 30% of colleagues are foreign nationals), however, in my heart of hearts i knew they had hired the best brain and the most needed hands as they saw all that in me at the interview stage and was why i was hired.

I wont deny that i made a few mistakes at the start (but did not dwell on them). And trust such org to put you through in other to bring out the best in you.

Long cut short, with God, one year into the job, my confidence level is so grown that i am even entrusted with more responsibilities than are on my JD and God has been helping me to deliver.

So relax bro, its normal but dont dwell there for too long. Believe in your abilities and talk to God.
