Another set of suspected thugs has been apprehended by vigilant youths in Akwa Ibom, just hours to the governorship and House of Assembly elections today.

A bus carrying about 20 political thugs all the way from Edo state - was intercepted in Ikot Esen-Atiamkpat road, Nsit Ubium LGA, Akwa Ibom state.

The leader of the group was beaten mercilessly by the mob as he claimed they were brought from Edo to Akwa Ibom to monitor the elections and also provide "security" at polling units.

He also said they will receive their full payment after the elections are concluded.

Why can't other states like Delta and rivers copy from AKWA Ibom? I am sure other States were equally flooded with thugs

Electronic voting is the way to go and not this manual thumb printing we are doing.
Take a look at BVN for instance.... If we can also bring that kind of technology into our electoral process it would be make sense.
