Muhammdu Buhari Specialist Hospital Kano set another record by conducting its first spinal cord surgery. Buhari hospital also conducts second brain surgery, a few months after conducting the first one. The hospital is currently the most equipped public hospital in Nigeria as said by the minister of health. Credits to the administration Of Fmr Gov. Ibrahim Shekarau for initiating & Gov Abdullahi Ganduje for completing the construction of the hospital.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and His Deputy Nasir Gawuna visit the hospital following the successful surgery.

The first patient was referred from a hospital in Nassarawa State for a Lumbar Spine surgery (4 levels)

While the second patient was referred from National hospital Abuja for a Posterior Fossa Craniotomy and removal of a brain tumour.

The team of doctors was lead by neurosurgeon Shuaibu Danbatta from Kano & Dr Nick from England. It should be recalled that last year (2018) Dr Danbatta lead a team of indigenous doctors to performed first brain surgery, not only at MBuhari hospital but in Kano at large.

The patients are already recovering. One with spinal cord injury was able to stand.

Kano state government have since awarded another contract for the establishment of Cancer centre at Muhammdu Buhari specialist hospital.

The last brain surgery held at same hospital was successful without the help of a white man. It may interest to note that all the doctors are indigenes of Kano.

Some people ask; where are the achievements?
Well, if they are of such mindset, unfortunately they can't be helped.
We don't have the authority to mix spittle with clay,
put on their eyes, and direct them to go to Siloam pool, wash, and come back seeing.
Once anybody decides to be willfully blind, no matter what you push in front of his eyes, he wouldn't see.
If he decides to be willfully deaf, even if there are thunder by his ears, he won't hear.
