You do not know how she got there. It may be her husband or brother or some relative that go her there and she's doing her own bit. Any honest means of making money anywhere is acceptable.

Moreover, Nigeria is a very disorganised and dysfunctional society so you cannot blame people for leaving to where there is some level of order.

The Nigeria of today is a nightmare to all Nigerians, except those who steal from government coffers, or are related to those who do so. Today's Nigeria is not the Nigeria of anybody's dream.

Maybe one day things will change.

Very sensible post. Those who are laughing at the lady for selling meat pie have not travelled and experienced life beyond the shores of Nigeria. How did some of the rich men in most societies start off in life? By being humble and starting small. I once worked for a Lebanese businessman who owned a bakery plant. He started off by making pitas bread and knocking on doors. He built a huge clientele and was able to open a bakery. After 20 years in the business, he was bought out by a major food corporation that was looking to diversify into the middle eastern market. He sold his business for millions. I worked as his accountant and I remember that the day of my interview I met him and didn't even know he was the owner. He was covered in flour because there was a problem with one of the machines and he was trying to fix it. It was the plant manager who interviewed me. Why am I telling this story? To show people on this thread that they should stop looking down on people whom they feel are doing menial jobs. Most of the major companies were started by people who did what we consider to be menial. Also meat pie is not cheap. I have seen how much people charge to make meat pies and fish pies for parties and it's not cheap. It can be a lucrative business.
Saying all this, I don't agree with the actions of the Nigerian lady. She probably needed a permit to sell the meat pies. The Chinese couple overreacted but I understand their frustration.

No one is saying she cannot feed an entire nation via sales of meat pies. I'm happy for her. But I have a source of livelihood. A very honest one. The Whites whom we so worship leave positive reviews on my gigs on Fiverr, and on my books on KDP. I'm not begging her for whatever money she is making through sales of meat pies.

There was a time in English region when Bibles were burnt and even people were tied to the stakes and burnt for their religious beliefs. The society then was so animalistic according to records.
