Professor Abiodun Bashua is a former United Nations(UN) and African Union(AU) Deputy Joint Special Representative in Darfur, Sudan. Aged 68, Bashua was one of the passengers aboard the ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed earlier today. He was until his death based in Addis Ababa where he was a consultant. Bashua is said to have been the only Nigerian citizen on the plane.

Why are we getting confusing news everywhere. First, it was no Nigerian, later we got to know that a nigerian was there which was prof adesanmi. Now this is another news stating it was Nashua. Well, I rather wait for official pronouncements

I just read on Twitter that Prof. Pius Adesanmi was also in the crashed plane. I’m hoping the news is not true.
