The PDP gubernatorial candidate Emeka Ihedioha has officially been declared winner of Imo Gubernatorial Election. He was announced winner by the State’a REC few minutes ago on Channels TV. He polled PDP 273,404 beating his closest rival Uche Nwosu of AA who polled 190,364 and Senator Ararume APGA who polled 114,676.

Not so.he didnt meet a constitutional requirement and inec erred.the constitution says for you to be declared winner,you must have gotten the highest votes cast and gotten about 25% in two third of the areas.he failed here.imo has 27 states,two third is 18 and he got 25% in 15 lgas.the courts will remove him fast

It will cancel the election and order for a runoff between the two highest scoring candidates.how can inec declare someone who got 25% of votes in just 12 lgas winner ?

The interpretation of the constitution is not as straight forward as you think. Lawyers will always come up with a different argument to stall this process. But for now Emeka Ihedioha remains the Governor elect until proven otherwise by Court of competent jurisdiction.
