Why Is Nigerian President Treated At Overseas Hospital by zhike(op): 2:43pm On Mar 12, 2019
How is the state of health care in Nigeria?, How could Buhari be treated at overseas hospital while here in Nigeria there is good hospital. I think the government is misleading us when they say we must visit government clinics and hospitals.

Sad. Buhari needs to be queried for lying and that's one of the reasons I lost confidence in his administration after voting him in 2015. He said during a town hall meeting in lagos that, he will stop political office holders from receiving medical treatment abroad but the same man happened to be a beneficiary of overseas treatment .

A few years back, i was invited by USA to a world medical entrepreneurial gathering in Washington DC which took place at the daughters of American revolution hall where the US president addressed us all. I was the only Nigerian invited that time in a gathering of over 800 entrepreneurs selected globally. This same question came up as why most African leaders prefer to see their people die over preventable and curable illnesses but would always run to USA for treatment. One man from Mayo clinic said, African leaders lack trust in their health sectors because they are not contributing anything to its development whereas, most of the medics from Africa rank among the best here in the states.

Buhari isn't a leader we need to take us to our fair haven, not even Atiku. Its high time we started shopping for a virile youth, irrespective of religious ethnic or tribal affiliations ahead of 2023. Our health facilities nationwide are moribund.

As i speak, I'm on my way to one of the teaching hospitals in the south south to solve a problem. I'm even getting worried as the government is doing nothing to rescue it. People die everyday needlessly . Human life means nothing to them. This is the only area a common man is supposed to be enjoying the so called dividends of democracy. It's only when they're in good health they can go to farm or their shops to work

for comparing sake, in the country that we think is below us in development "South Africa", a president or any any government official will never go out for medical reasons because they believe in their own health care system.

It is very sad. how can you have a hospital and want other people to use it, while yourself you can not use it.

Will Nigeria health care system ever work well like Botswana, Namibia and South African health care systems?

I just want to give a practical example, Nelson Mandela was always going in and out of hospitals but he never used hospitals outside South Africa. I think we must learn from them.
