Parents should make it a point of duty to demand registration certificates from schools they intend to send their wards to inorder to avoid issues that touch.

That school is an extension of government schools. Nothing is private about it. I know that vicinity well. I bet my life U can't spend 5mins there without fainting. That school is right inside the market

Don't mind the hypocrites. Na when horrible things sele dem go show face.
I feel really heartbroken for the affected kids particularly for a woman who lost all her five children in one spot. Kai! I can imagine what she will be going through right now.
So sad my friend.

they should shut up... weren't they collecting dues from the school?

they knew the school wasn't registered what did the association do to close the school?

So what if the school was never registered, what does it have to do with the collapsed building? What exactly is the requirement for registering if not to pay a large fee every year? The owner was very smart, he chose to save his money instead. What i'm perplexed about is how all those guys in this picture have flat tummy and 6 packs, is it hunger or is it from their daily activities? I go to the gym 5 days a week, do push up, lift dumbell, do squats, do dead lift, do crunches and I still have no 6 pack. Maybe its not in my genes. Do you know that in 1994, Rashidi Yekini became the first player to score in the worldcup where Nigeria defeated Bulgaria 3-0?

I stay in the same Street with the building (collapsed) the fault is with the government agency responsible for marking weak structures and demolition cos they didn't follow up after the building has been marked for more than two years

We have thousands of unregistered private schools in Nigeria today.
They just get 3-5 teachers(SSCE holder) rent 3 rooms or other cheap alternatives and start having students.
The Ministry of Education in each state needs to do a lot work for our nation.
i tell u,if we dnt hav all these schools, our illiteracy will go up like rocket, how many schools do we hav in naija compared to our children population, all dis the way they are talkin abt d registration u wil tink they support schools or is d reg free?is jx to extort 4rm d school, nigeria jagajaga

What a statement!
Was it about school registration or death of pupils in a dilapidated structure? Who cares if they aren't registered? Or does your association build schools for registered members? Oh my. Bhet why are we like this? This is the lamest statement I have read all day!

Sadly, some associations are more interested in the annual dues than the welfare of the schools.

Ooop! Ok. Thanks for the info. Some bloggers don't get their facts right rather they report lies to draw massive attention and to get more income. It is well.

Denial will spring forth from registered bodies and stakeholders. The builder association may even declare the building inconclusive.

Everything nowadays in Naija is by chance ,change or inconclusive to next level.

Mr. Emmanuel Orji, told The Nation that the group had no records of the school’s membership.

Didn't he know this before?.... if not...why not?... or was the school just opened? Anybody can open school anywhere... no regulation or enforcement. Are there other non registered schools?...guess he wouldn't know unless there is a tragedy.

What does it matter? People died, you are talking about registration. Would that have averted the crisis or brought the dead back to life? Nonsense ingredients.

This is last resort since the regulation system has failed.

As if being registered would have stopped the building from collapsing.

Trump was right calling Nigeria a shithole.
All these can only happen in a banana country like Nigeria. No government. Everybody busy looting the country like vulture.
Nigeria is crying .....tired of its fruits.
