Anyway the truth of the matter is nigerians are very stupid. What nigerians like is to take their oil money and go and build another country like south africa or ghana. Just look at ghana it now the fastest developing country in africa and ghana has overtaken india in development. We nigerian people are the most stupidest people in the world. When things like this happen twice in a week it leaves you wondering why the Standard Organization of Nigeria was set up. And moreover Land surveyors are no longer consulted before erecting any structure in this country. There are areas that are swampy and can't carry more than 1 storey building but we don't have a functional Town Planning Board in any State of this Federation(I stand to be corrected) to ensure that these rules are strictly adhered to. Just give any of this corrupt organisations peanut and you are good to go, the safety of the inhabitants of your substandard house can go to hell for all they care. Lastly, the use of substandard materials cannot be overemphasized. Take for a yardstick an Engineer is given #10000 to buy a material he buys that of #5000 instead and you expect the quality to be the same? Or the Landlord is given an estimate of what his building will cost him, he will rather decide to cut cost and go for the cheaper ones forgetting that that his Godforsaken house will be occupied by humans and not chickens.
