I was explaining this to some guys yesterday Azpilicueta has been shit yet the opponent don't attack through his role because Willian and Pedro perform their defensive duties very well.
Wonder why most of the big games we won this season Hazard didn't play as a winger? Willian and Pedro protects the full back alot.
Hazard is the reason why Sarri can't use Loftus cheek against big teams, Kovacic helps in protecting the LB alot but we don't need that when the opponent defends very well in the first half because he is not good at creating chances, after the first half the opponent wait to counter when Kovacic is either out due to his inability to break the lines with passes and runs and get subbed for a more attacking LCM then our LB gets exposed no protection or whatsoever making Alonso very vulnerable on counter and most times he is faced with 2vs 1.
The purpose of passing is to move the opponent, Hazard will receive a simple ball from his team mates and waste time on unnecessary touches and dribbles allowing the opponent to re group.

After that we can discuss whether or not Willian and Pedro are better than Malouda and Joe Cole, whether or not Fabregas is better than Deco, whether or not Azpi is better than Bosingwa or Belletti, or how Kante and Kovacic compare with Ramires, Thiago or Essien etc.
