With the way these guys are playing hide and seek with this minimum wage, they're really ready to be owing salaries. I smell scam
PriestlyLawyer:
The Nigerian Senate has approved N30,000 as the new national minimum wage.

The approval came subsequent to the submission of the report of the ad hoc committee set up to review the minimum wage. The committee was headed by Senator Francis Alimikhena.

The decision was taken at the plenary session on Tuesday.

A request was also made to the Nigerian government to submit a supplementary budget, which would include the structure of the new national minimum wage.

The House of Representatives had also earlier approved the new figure as the national minimum wage.

Shut up. What has that thief got to do with Minimum wage. The guy who stole Kwara dry, hold Nigeria hostage for 3 years and half by his unquenchable greed. A bill that has been sent to him for over 3 months by house of representatives is just signed today!! FYI Kwara state which is supposed to be his state gives the lowest salary to her workers in Nigeria, while he divert the real salary to his account.
Don't worry abdulraman will pay #30,000.00.

Kudos to NASS

Weldon Saraki and Dogara

Let me see if President Buhari who insisted on #27K will reject it.

don't you see how stupid and bigoted you are, buhari wanted 30k but son govs insisted they could only pay 27k but still buhari sent 30k to nass, instead of u to hail him you are hailing thieves like saraki who collect pension as gov and still collect senate salary and who is the only senate president in history who couldn't pay Nass workers. try and learn

Would this have an effect on private sector staffs that are already collecting above #30,000?

Believe it or not Nigerians will surely miss Saraki when he leaves office as SP and no where to be found in the Senate for next 4 years.
The 9th Senate would be the most boring, most passive, most voiceless and most direction less in Nigeria's history. A total rubber stamp and a laughingstock in the eyes of the international community.
Senator Bukola Saraki would remain the most courageous, most charismatic and most intelligent senate president ever in Nigeria. His achievements and courage would remain indelible in the sands of time.
I wish he remains SP for a keep and oversee major electoral reforms among others. Since I am not God to circumscribe destiny but suffice me to say that I and Nigerians LOVE you so much Sir. God will bring you back with greater love to solve that important knowledge based problem that Nigeria needs to join the comity of developed countries in, the word !

Will this affects the nysc monthly allowance?

Yes, NYSC corpers will be receiving 33,000 naira if the new minimum wage is implemented. 30,000 plus 10% of 30,000. That is 30,000+3,000=33,000.
They receive 19,800 because the current minimum wage is 18,000. 18,000+10% of 18000=19,000. Good one for NYSC members.
Nigeria shall be great again.

Federal Ministries is around 49k - 50k on Grade Level 8 step 2.
Government Parastatals on Grade Level 8 earn above 120k. The Difference is Mind Blowing.
