Anyone who thinks there is any other solution about from increased tax ....then the person dont mean well for Nigeria

Whats the Vat in ghana ,or kenya even

Vat in nigeria should be 15% minimum
The increase in rate will result in slight increase but trust our manufacturers and retailers, they will hike the price beyond measure.

Even if we tax enough, these guys in-charge end up stealing the bulk of it. So where is the encouragement to pay taxes?

Up till now, no major city in Nigeria has stable power supply.

I remember when the minimum wage was been introducing and I vehemently stood against it because No government will stand this huge cost.

When asked for alternatives I mentioned that government should offer free education for 2sibling at approved schools. Transportation voucher and some other benefit. Inflation would be more control as govt has direct circle of influence.
The beneficiaries would save part for other purpose.

But now this. No govt be it PDP ,APC wetc can't do anything about it. They need to sustain the cash flow for maintenance.

What enabling environment do u need...

The vat u pay is not even enough to pay federal civil servants for 3 months not to talk about providing enabling environment

Its tax before development and not development before tax ...how much tax do u even pay per year

Tax increment is not the only way out. If you know the amount of sleaze going on in all FIRS establishments over the years, you would marvel. There are a numerous leakages that still needs attention and numerous wasteful spendings that ought not be. Let them look in those directions if they are sincere.

Will you stop this feeling of entitlements please!

At 5%, Nigeria collect the lowest VAT in the whole world! Only those countries that decided not to collect at all are lower than Nigeria! UK charges up to 19%! Nigerians want free things and wonder why we don't have good infrastructure! You cannot eat your cake with subsidies and still have it with infrastructure. Same thing for taxes. Nigeria have the lowest tax to GDP ratio in the whole world. Mean we pay very little taxes and we want infrastructure? The time God dey do 'Be, and it was" don pass ooo. This government need all the money they can get, let us support them if we truly want a better Nigeria

To you and the rest calling TIB a compromised movement, why do you think Charly boy, Deji and the rest of the activist never supported Sowore? They hated him because of his hard stance on issue, beside can you provide a proof where Sowore has compromised? If Sowore had wanted to, he would have become irrelevant now, he has everything to have been relevant politically and in terms of wealth.

Did you and I ever believe that uncle Charlie would have been compromised?

Why must you insult?

The way i reason is this. Citizens must do their part before holding government to do their part.
Simple!

Do you see me support the high cost of governance in Nigeria? If you really want this country to be great, we citizens must do our parts. Our parts starts from paying our taxes, then holding our governments accountable

You have still not learned that it takes the one with the best rigging machinery to win an election in this country.

Subtle campaign ko building bridge ni

And it's because of people with your mentality that makes the political class know with certainty that they can rig elections with impunity.

Bro you are just spewing trash

The money they are earning from tax, what are doing with it? You want someone that earns 10k per month to be paying tax, with the increase in the price of food stuffs in market? If the people that falls in that category pays tax, one mumu go use the money they ride Ducati bike in aso rock or one go de inside AC dey think on how to amass wealth with people taxes and one stupid idiot go use the money to send his kids to school in abroad or buy mansion in dubai or they f**k Nigerian and foreign olosho. You want people to trust the same politicians with the little they earn. The current fg have borrowed 12.7 trillion naira in the last four years, what have they done with it?
If the FG can't tap into the numerous natural resources in Nigeria but want to tax already impoverished citizens. They should go f**k themselves. And dont tell me govt dont have the right resources to make things right because money dey disappear right and left.

E be like say you de work directly for aso rock, thats why you carry tax for head like dandruff

A good number of people especially in the south do not come out to vote largely because of security reasons. Have you tried to follow-up on any of the cases of people that lost their lives in any of the previous elections? Did their death in any way change your daily routine? Is dying for a "staged" election in Nigeria really worth your life?

These are some of the reasons people consider before going out to vote, not tax.

If you doubt me, ask people around you their opinions during election period and I bet you not one will mention the word "tax" in their response.

Good day.
