I'm a Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ - God Who became a Man to die for our sins and rescue us from the Second Death - who is committed to following the Bible wherever it leads.

Spiritual adultery is a theological term coined to explain Bible passages like Revelation 2:14 and 17:2. It means the preference of other gods to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Idolatry, however, is not necessarily overt in the sense that a physical idol has to be made and worshipped before one is said to have committed spiritual adultery. Rather, anything that is not the Lord Himself that we take to heart in the manner that we should take the Lord and His Word to heart is an idol to us. Thus, money can be an idol. Thus, family can be an idol. And so on.
