They have started vandalising power lines in the SS. The few remaining firms would pack and enter SW again. Its like these people from that side are stupid.

Meanwhile, those working on stuff like that are suspects. They would steal them and resell to the same company. These items aren't commonplace and so, they should check with those selling these items.

Nigerians believe that they own their personal property (phone, car etc). But they don't believe that public property is shared property of Nigeria|Nation. The concept of "Nation/National/Nigeira" does not mean anything to anybody.
If you mention "America" to a typical American, they will say "Land of Freedom, Superpower, American Dream". All of them know it because their forefathers came from Europe to conquer the land for all of them. It is in their vested interest to maintain the land and all public infrastructure. They want their country to be better than other countries.
Not so for us, Nigerians.
When we say "Nigeria", what comes to the mind of the typical Indegene is Hmm, Nonsense! My Village is my concern, Nigeria is corrupt, useless leaders, How can I escape overseas? How can I escape to my village?"
Americans do not have village mind. The whole America is their village.

There are vandals because there is a market to sell to. The first step is Government must heavily regulate the sale of such specialize equipment and ensure that only accredited people are allowed to sell those nature of equipment. If there is no incentive crime is reduced. If power equipment are still sold by any tom-dick and harry you will continue to have this issues.

Vandals can only risk tampering with infrastructure when they don't carry power. Keep the lines energized and you have solved part of the problem
