In Europe people careless about the Army because the police is highly efficient. You can't intimidate anyone with your Military uniform. But in nigeria, the fear of intimidating the civilians with Camouflage is higher.

No. it's not so. I grew up in the barracks and I can say there are lot of very gentle and humble soldiers in the barracks when you meet them. The matter is you just have to know the best way to approach a soldier. And the camouflage, why wear a camouflage when you are not a military person.?? Soldiers have huge respect for Their uniform and they do not take likely when they see we "bloody civilian" wearing it for fun

I understand bro! My (late) grandfather was a General and he was really sweet (to me). But can't he be thrown in the guard room or something. Soldiers in America don't behave like this. Is this animalistic behaviour peculiar to blacks? It's quite embarrassing.

The culprits in the case are those who are meant to serve and protect but instead flout the law of Prevention of Violence Against Persons. By the way from what I read, wearing of camo only attracts a ten naira fine. The criminal aspect is if the wearer portrays himself/herself as a military personnel.

Nothing therefore justifies this treatment. To buttress my point, watch the rebuttal by the Army in a few days time that either the 'soldiers' are fake or that soldiers are not trained to do this and those found guilty would be punished. Even the Army knows it's wrong even in Nigeria.

Bullshit. A man who has love for his uniform and knows his job will not abuse it by acting like an agbero while wearing it. Will they say they love the uniform more than their American counterparts? Is camo a uniform like that ? Its combat gear. You cant wear it to certain functions. Fatigues are like work clothes. If it was such a taboo. Fashion and sports companies wont be manufacturing clothes with camo

Totally untrue that it is illegal to wear camo in the US, it is sold openly in stores and anyone can wear it without harassment. The law you are quoting says US military attire and insignia which is different from camo worn for fashion purposes.

Presicely, They may have earned the right to the Uniform but soldiering isn't About Going About brutalising and Assaulting civilians, it is also About Self Control/Respect, Humility, Good behaviours and Respect for Other human beigns. All they had to do was tell him to remove the camo.


Soldiers can be court marshalled, Arrested, Prosecuted and Jailed too, they are not Above the law. Maybe in Nigeria they are Above the law.

I went for an overnight show on Friday, the securities for the show were FSARS, (actually the first time I'll be seeing them as a security in a show), I was a bit happy that there will be peace, but lo and behold, they were just shooting speriodically outside the venue, there was a little altercation inside and they came inside and started shooting inside, one of the shells of the bullet landed on the lady beside me I became uncomfortable and me and my friends had to leave as well as some others too, to avoid stories that touch.

What am I trying to say..... All our security personnel act like gods to civilians, in saner climes wearing camouflage doesn't matter, no one will harass you for it.... Nigeria is just a messed up place.
