NiyiOmoIyunade:
The 340watts panels are rather steeply priced on here. If you own them, you can put it on your profile that you use Solar World, a premium 'made in Germany' panel grin

People will see it and be green with envy and be in awe of your solar greatness.
....

@Sentence in bold font: you're such a jester.

NiyiOmoIyunade:
So the upgrade/expansion bug bit me and I helped myself to an additional 12 units of 300w Canadian Solar Panels out of the 'for sale' inventory I carry. So I now have a 11Kw PV array to play with but need roof space to mount.

I want to sell off my 300w Flames panels to anyone who is interested - I will only sell 12 units at a go please and I'm open to all reasonable offers.

I tried so hard to resist this temptation o but in the end I succumbed. tongue

I still carry brand new Canadian Solar 300w modules at a good price - 52K apiece

Your glowing review of Canadian Solar panels literally forced me to get rid of my solar panels and replace them with Canadian Solar ones. No regrets there. Whatever bug bit you is harbouring a highly communicable infection.

Hehehehe... I had the Outback Flexmax 60 several moons ago. The unit worked for some months, then one day it refused to wake up.
I checked, double checked, triple checked! angry
Blazing sun, yet the unit refused to wake up. I went online, no luck.
In frustration, i took a hammer to put it out of it's misery...

Long story short, i bought it's Chinese clone. Fangpusun 60A.
That one was reading 62A max current instead of clamping at 60A grin grin

I got rid of it and purchased the Midnite Classic, now Victron SmartSolar grin grin

earthrealm:
@nonoski, what are the cons of the outback flexman, what should a potential buyer beware of?, have you used another tier 1 cc, like morning star, how does the outback compare against them?

900 watts mono is just 156K
Then why should one but 680 watts mono for 160k ?

Happy Sunday Chief ,I get your lil comparison analogy but that's the market prices for those units currently ,maybe due to country of produce et availablity of stock for interested buyers ! Feel free to send me a DM via WhatsApp for pictorial differentials

Happy new month to us all.
I need some guidance on sizing of solar panel.
I have a 1kva inverter and a 12v 100ah gel battery which i use to power my outdoor sliding gate machine.
Due to poor power supply to charge the inverter , i want to incorporate a solar panel to charge this battery.
What size of panel should i go for that can convienently charge this battery?

Well with tym u get use to the noise.
I have 2 Outback CC and a 5kva Must power inverter
Imagine the noise when they all come on at almost same time.

The fans usually come on when the there's a sharp increase in pv output or when the pv output is high. In fact I use the noise of the fan to know when the sun is at full blast

Nice1, takin advantage of ur problem, n putin it to gud use

Hello my people,
Does anyone who has used outback FM 60 or 80 has any experience with Fangpusun clones? I have a setup with an Outback FM80 and a Midnite Classic 150. Sometimes, either of the CC go into float while one is still in bulk. So, I'm tempted to buy another outback hoping that two outbacks will work together better. But, I was wondering if I should buy the cheaper Fangpusun since they appear to be 1:1 clone of outback. Any thoughts is appreciated.

U can get anoda outback n use the Combiner hub

whats the consumption of your gate in watts?.
incase you cant tell simply buy 2 or 3 100w x 12v panels, and a 30amp pwm charge controller, or a single 250w or 300w panel and a 20amps or 30amps mppt charge controller. any of the above should fully charge a 100ah battery daily

earthrealm:

whats the consumption of your gate in watts?.
incase you cant tell simply buy 2 or 3 100w x 12v panels, and a 30amp pwm charge controller, or a single 250w or 300w panel and a 20amps or 30amps mppt charge controller. any of the above should fully charge a 100ah battery daily

Thanks earthrealm, I would go with the single 250 or 300watt.
But i have this spare esmart3 60amps MPPT (12v/24/36/48v) which i plan to use it with. I just hope its not too much for it

Gd morning, pls I need urgent professional advice. Am buying my RE equipments gradually as I don't have money to buy at once. I have Luminous 24v inverter I used B4 I lost my batteries after 2 yrs. I have a brand new Must Power EP3000 Inverter. I intend using 6 pieces of 250w poly panels in Abuja(I haven't bought). My problem is I intend buying Charge Controller this month, and an installer near me said I must buy a Controller with Max array of 1500 watts and 110-120v. I don't know of any of Epever, fangpusun etc that have this spec. My initial plan was to buy mppt of 40A. Is this installer getting it wrong?.PLS ADVICE NEWBIE ON THE AFFORDABLE CC TO BUY.

It appears you plan to keep your battery bank at 24v nominal (2 pairs of 12v batteries in series). With this a CC with max VoC tolerance of 100v is more than adequate since you can wire your 250w panels (nominal 24v) as 2 in series and then 3 parallel runs 2S3P.

In the above config, an array voltage around 60v or slightly higher will give enough voltage to cover line losses in the wiring and still allow sufficent mppt headroom for you to run an efficient system.

I will advise you to go for a CC such as the Fangpusun BlueSolar clone 100v 50a such as JUO and DMerciful sell - this can be had for under 70k including the display meter.

Just be sure that you don't plan to expand your system to 48v nominal battery setup later and you will be good to go. If you have your eyes on 48v then any of the Fangpusun 150v 60A CCs should do you well.
