Thanks Sir but what of the Max PV Array that this neighborhood installer is saying must be up to 1500watts. Kindly advice if the Fangpusun u recommended for me (which is within my budget) handles this. Sorry I am a lawyer, this question may sound foolish.

I want to sell off my 300w Flames panels to anyone who is interested - I will only sell 12 units at a go please and I'm open to all reasonable offers.

How much do you want to sell the 12units of flames? and how long have you been using them?

But, why? Any problem that I should be aware of?

adrusa,

apparently you haven't been following posts here on this thread.
the protek water heater is not exactly what it is advertised to be.
besides being easily susceptible to leaks, there's supposed to be a
3 year warranty on the product which the vendors never have the
intention of honoring.
and, did i mention that it is a white label....?

u came out of hibernation just for them. that water heater show u no be small.

samnaija,

not exactly, bro
i'm still using the protek brand till date but that doesn't mean i wouldn't speak out to warn
other prospective buyers of their shylock tendencies.

as for being in hibernation, that also is not exactly correct. if you check my profile, i've always
been around but what's the point posting repeated answers to questions already made good
by able members like niyi, chris, bigrovar, saipro, zeestone, pranil, et al?

@GeorgeD1- Thank you

@ samnaija -- I have a 120 Ltr Simba and 50 Ltr Protek. i can assure you that all of them are exact same probably made in some china factory . Further proof is that all of the aliexpress water heater acessories I bought such as heating element, level controller , inlet valves fit perfectly the design specs

protek has also recently started stocking booster pumps and controllers so if you do not want the D.I.Y aliexpress route then protek may be a better bet despite the suspect service delivery

on the other end of the spectrum, Ariston stocks quality solar water heaters but you pay the price for good materials. considering NEPA @ 25 NGN a water heater for 400-550 K NGN does not make sense chinese is a better option( VFM)

@george d and pranil. it's just I can't forget when George was fussing about the after sale service with this protek. it was epic..
I was on the other team more panels connect water heater directly. going close to almost 2yrs...
to honor after sale service with warranty is a biggie in Nigeria..

Gd morning, pls I need urgent professional advice. Am buying my RE equipments gradually as I don't have money to buy at once. I have Luminous 24v inverter I used B4 I lost my batteries after 2 yrs. I have a brand new Must Power EP3000 Inverter. I intend using 6 pieces of 250w poly panels in Abuja(I haven't bought). My problem is I intend buying Charge Controller this month, and an installer near me said I must buy a Controller with Max array of 1500 watts and 110-120v. I don't know of any of Epever, fangpusun etc that have this spec. My initial plan was to buy mppt of 40A. Is this installer getting it wrong?.PLS ADVICE NEWBIE ON THE AFFORDABLE CC TO BUY.
this is the most affordable and very efficient controller for u. i personally use it. contact @DMerciful

Hehehehe... I had the Outback Flexmax 60 several moons ago. The unit worked for some months, then one day it refused to wake up.
I checked, double checked, triple checked! angry
Blazing sun, yet the unit refused to wake up. I went online, no luck.
In frustration, i took a hammer to put it out of it's misery...

Long story short, i bought it's Chinese clone. Fangpusun 60A.
That one was reading 62A max current instead of clamping at 60A grin grin

I got rid of it and purchased the Midnite Classic, now Victron SmartSolar grin grin

I remember you've expressed that anger several months back. But you have already hammered it.

Anyone with the above flexmax symptoms can PM. For its' trick-to-wake diy twick.

That's an AC SPD

It's simple, get two wires, one for the live L and the other for neutral N. From ur live line in the distribution box (or wherever u intended using it) connect the wire to the live and terminate the other end inside d L part of d SPD. Do the same for the neutral side and terminate the other end in the N part of d SPD. Under it u have one terminal called the protected earth or so. That where u will connect the third wire which will be terminated in the earth busbar inside ur distribution box. Hope that is clear?

Clear but it appears simplistic hence the second request. Any gotchas? Thanks!

By the way, I have the DC SPD too. Any caveats there?

Lol, life is just simple(depends on how u take it)

DC SPD, the only thing I can think of right now is just the high voltage, about 600Vdc while the midnite is around 300Vdc. Just plug and play

solar gurus...abeg helep me b4 ny money loss
i wsn to do a small setup..for 5 12w bulbs and maybe 1 60w fan on some nights.
my budget is lean. so 1kva inverter .1 x 12v 200ah battery and 2 x 250w 36v panels. i intend to hook it up to a 30a or 40a mppt charge controller..my question is theoritically the panels shud generate 15amps at 24v...thus simce am connecting it to an mppt cc for a 12v system...i would be getting abt 30amps at 12v.

pls confirm this my analysis or plan is correct

No.

Reviving trickware is just for flexmax brands. And it works instead of another hammer. grin
