Thumbs up to the 'algebraic' prowess of these guys.

I observed some regular guys that get high on snake meat, bum and bust matters and APC/PDP deceptions are not making any comments... Why so?

Let me give you another approach by taking it from the back this time


Let the father's age be = P
Mother's age = P-5 since the father is 5 years older than her
and daughters age = (P-5)/2 since her age is half of the mum's.
(P-5)/2 + (P-5) + P = 100
(P-5) + 2(P-5) + 2P = 200
P-5 + 2P-10 +2P =200
5P= 200 + 15
5P= 215
P=215/5
P= 43
Father = 43 years old
Mother= 43- 5(since the father is 5 years older)= 38 years old.
Daughter= 38/2 (since her age is half of the mum's)= 19 years old.
(F,M,D)= (43,38,19) is the required set of solution.

Let mother's age be x, then the girl's age will be x/2 being the half of her mother's.
Since the father's age is 5 years greater than the mother's, his age will be x+5.
According to the girl, the sum of their ages is 100. Therefore,
girl's age (x/2 years)+ mother's age(x years) + father's age((x+5)years) = 100.
Now, x/2 + x + x+5= 100
2x + x/2 = 100-5
2x + x/2 = 95
4x + x = 190
5x = 190
x = 190/5
x= 38.
Therefore, the mother is 38 years old, the girl is 19 years old and her dad is 43 years old.

Daughter's age =1/2x
Father's age = 5+x
The sum of the father, mother and daughter's age = 100
Therefore, 5+x+1/2x+x=100
2.5x=100-5
X= 95/2.5 =38

Therefore, the mothers age is 38
Daughter's age is 38/2 = 19
Father's age is 38+5 = 43

The first time I see mathematics on niaraland front page. U most be a friend to a mod.

I need more maths

Let Nina's age be denoted with x, her mum's denoted with y and her dad's z

From the questions,

y= 2x....... Equation 1
y + 5 = z...... Equation 2
x+ y +z = 100 ..... Eqn 3

Substituting eqn 1 into eqn 2 for y

2x + 5 = z..... Eqn 4

Substituting for eqn 4 into eqn 3 for z

x + 2x +2x + 5 = 100

Adding items with x

5x + 5 = 100

Subtracting 5 from both sides,

5x = 100 - 5

5x = 95

Divide both sides by 5

x = 95/5

x = 19

Substituting 19 for x in eqn 1

y = 2(19)

y = 38


Substituting for x and y in eqn 3

19 + 38 + z = 100

57 + z = 100

Subtract 57 from both sides

z = 100-57

z = 43

Recal that x denotes Nina's age, y her mum's and z her dad's.

Therefore,

Nina is 19

Her mum is 38

Her Dad 43
