The Supreme Court has struck out the suit filed by Senator Magnus Abe on the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.

In a unanimous judgment read on Monday by the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Ibrahim Mohammed, the apex court dismissed the application on the ground that it lacks merit.

The court also noted that the suit is incompetent and a gross violation of order 2 rule 8 of the supreme court rules.

It held that once a notice of appeal has been found defective, it cannot be amended.

The appeal was dismissed on mostly technical grounds. firstly, it is incompetent and lacks merit.secondly,it is against section 285 of the constitution.thirdly,it was filed outside the 14 days window for appeals

Stop consoling yourself.Tonye Cole's case was first to be strike out at the supreme Court. It was on that premise that INEC Excluded them from the general elections

I am expecting one dumb wailer to come and say that the Supreme Court got scared and changed its decision in the early hours of the morning because PDP had raised an alarm that Amaechi, Malami and Tanko want to make sure that Rivers election holds again.

This is a bit of a tautology on my part,

Wailers are always dumb.

Abe is dead politically, wike is wise among all of them, frm dakuku to abe, they all ride on ameachi's success they can never win an election on their own

It's like this Rivers election will be reconducted afresh or is that the Supreme Court are simply confusing themselves?

The implication is that WIKE carry go. If the Supreme court ruling had favoured Magnus, he would have start moving to court calling for fresh election in Rivers state. What a gross mess it would have been!
