All this article tells me is that Buhari achieved absolutely nothing on his trip to Dubai. The "marketer" bit is useless puffery, as investors aren't idiots, and they will be all too aware that Buhari's government hasn't lifted a finger to get rid of the multiple exchange-rates, to sell off the badly maintained airports, to streamline the size of a bloated government full of rent-seeking, incompetent "workers", etc. Buhari could have promised heaven and earth and it wouldn't have made the slightest difference as long as he has no actions to give credibility to his words.

As for the idea that Buhari is only "going slow" now in order to "survive", it again betrays just how intellectually limited the man is, to think that the only alternative to randomly locking people up and demanding that they "prove" themselves innocent (reversing the normal course of justice) is to do nothing at all: does Buhari imagine that banging people in jail is the only work of a government, or even its main role? Why isn't he doing anything in the meantime about education, security, downsizing of the public sector, giving LGAs real independence, truly localizing the police (and not the nonsense of putting them under the already overmighty governors), primary health care, or any of a large number of other issues? All this ignorant man knows how to do is drone on about "corruption", neglecting everything else, and yet if his tenure has not seen any major reduction in the corruption which he fixates on to the exclusion of everything else.

One more thing that needs saying: why does it take going to Dubai for ordinary Nigerians to get access to their president and ask him questions about his performance in office? Why can't he do the same thing back home, and on a regular basis? Trump may be a crooked, lying buffoon, but at least he's willing to go out to regularly meet his supporters and answer their questions, even if his answers are brazen lies: that abysmal performance is still better than what Buhari has managed over the last 4 years, which really says something.

What has the yuen deal he brokered done for us ?

Nigeria's tragedy is that its leadership should be selected by masses of ignorant people like you, who don't care that Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world, with northern Nigeria as its epicentre, as long as the man who sits in Aso Rock is a fellow "northerner" handing out "juicy" appointments to a few other "northerners". What does it matter that tens of millions of your children aren't in school, or that 1 in 5 of your babies won't live to 5 years of age?
