The Police Command in Kano State has arrested a 15-year-old housewife, Hassana Lawan, of Bechi Village, in Kumbotso Local Government Area (LGA) of the state for allegedly poisoning her 33-year-old husband, Sale Abubakar.

The Command’s Public Relations’ Officer (PPRO),DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.

Haruna said on April 16, at about 2 p.m., the command received a report that the suspect gave her husband (Abubakar) food with rat poison.


He said the victim was taken to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Kano, for treatment.

The PPRO said the command had commenced investigation into the matter and the suspect would be charged to court as soon as the investigations were completed.

Freedom of dressing?. Oh, you mean the type that reveals their cleavage and shape??. Islam enjoin ladies to cover themselves given the kind of being they are like it or not. Compelling things sometimes is to set our head straight not to put us in difficulty. A tactic our parents use so well.

About education, you're absolutely wrong. Seeking knowledge is compulsory in Islam both on Males and Females. However, our character and social status may manifest in our Islam but that doesn't make what you see the Islamic Standard. For example, while I wouldn't restrict my own daughters from getting quality Western and Islamic education [Some types of knowledge are haraam] , another Mallam may do so for financial or personal reasons.

About Marriage or child marriage?.

As strict as you think Islam is, it doesn't forbid marrying the man of your choice and no should get married against their will as long as her resistance is reasonable. For example, why is a 44yr old woman still unmarried??. Yet, contented with having 'entanglements' or 'baby mamaship '. Islam is strict about sexual relations when a boy is capable of laying with a woman, then he should marry else, he should remain upright if he's financially repressed.

The same goes for a woman, if she's capable of having sexual relations and a worthy suitor comes calling then should anything hold her back?. If her walliy (people who have rights to give her out in marriage) she isn't ready yet whilst they're mindful of Allah, then even the girl cannot get married if she wants to. So, one walliy can think that their child is ripe for marriage another walliy may think not. But in either case, both must be mindful of Allah in their decisions.

About taking part in politics, habaa ma'am, you're being hypocritical here!, even in this '' Secular '' Nigeria, how much Participation rate does women have?. As per Islam, I don't know much but trust me it's for their own good. But at home? you're being hypocritical again!. Although, a woman controls the home tacitly but should a man lose is ground on matters? . A man should take recommendations from his wife, there's nothing wrong in that, but the final decisions should majorly rest on the husband. If anyone deprives his woman a say in their home, that's his on cup of tea and not standard Islam. Islam pronounces a man as the head of his home and should take charge of affairs and not otherwise.


See, the major problem most people on NL have concerning Islam is, to me, just two:
