I am not completely against the donation of money to rebuild the Notre Dame that was consumed by fire on Monday. However, I am against the hypocrisy of some African leaders who have decided to overlook the numerous problems in their environment and instead, pledged millions to support the rebuilding of the cathedral. Today, Africa, especially the sub-Saharan part remains one of the poorest and afflicted regions in the world. Yet, this is not enough to move the same African leaders that are so eager to impress the world, to work out solutions.
