Good morning Good people please I'd like to sort people's advice because I'm running out of my mind. I happen to find myself in the lower and below average part of the economy, I'm from an environment where education isn't given much or no regard at all, you attend primary school, luckily secondary then u are ready for marriage though there are few exceptional people that make it beyond that and scale through. I have always had this imagination of making it beyond this place so I started having the pang and hunger for knowledge. I have also watched my parent strive and struggle to put food on the table and not starve. After my secondary education I knew if I didn't do anything that would be the end cus of lack of sponsorship but I was determined to make ot, my parents deserves a good life. I did all sort of hljobs ranging from fetching water and carrying blocks at building sites in order to raise funds for my dreams.

I finally gained admission at the age of 24, nine years after my SSCE. I finished service last year and the search for jobs started but alas I'm mostly not qualified I'm above graduate entry age. I'm 30 I hardly see jobs that requires no experience and can't apply for graduate trainee jobs because of my age. I have made attempt to lie about my age but couldn't go through. I would have loved to acquire certifications to aid and increase my chances but I can't start on how I made it through school due to my situation so that's presently not possible. I don't really have vast knowledge about everything but I try to gather much through the use of internet. I don't know what to do again as this is pushing me deep into depression.

I can feel your depression. The situation brings no pleasure. I offer my advice.

Can you change your focus. Getting a job is no problem however I advise you focus of delivering value and getting paid. In other words, I advise you to do something that will fetch you money and that will involve you answering your calling.

Depression is a sign you are not moving in a direction that is in alignment with your path. Once you get aligned even when the money is not yet abundant, depression starts to dissolve.

Answer your calling. That is the primary thing. Making money will be a by-product of your response to your calling and you will thank God later.

Everything works for good.

thanks for you input sir. The problem is I don't know what my calling is, I don't have passion or penchant for anything, all I ever knew was how not to starve and that I did. The truth is I'm lost.

The reason you are feeling lost is because your mind has gone haywire. So it is presenting things not real to you but you believe them to be real.

If only your mind can be calm and stop its noise-making activity, you will find that the appropriate action to take will come to you.

If you have penchant for nothing you probably might achieve nothing.. What's your experience? Do you have any from school? Why not dedicate a year to learn something!! Handwork etc or graphic designs, web design etc From there you will pick up. An employer can't employ you if you have little or nothing to offer, same thing you will do if you are in his shoes. Your experience at the NYSC is something. What social group or club did you join there then, I work with the HIV/AID peer group teaching students along with what I have to do teach them daily and I wasn't paid for it, this gave me the experience I needed and made it possible for me to work with NGO's despite my age and "poor grades" at school, and I'm still gathering experiences to work in an international org. So you just have to keep trying, it's not easy though but try, fast and pray also if you believe in God, He has a way of doing things towards our great benefits.

I'm quiet interested in learning or aquiring a skill to further boost my chances but how to cope while learning and how to pay for the skill is the issue. I was allotted to entertainment CDS group while serving so little was done during that period. Been seeking for where to volunteer too but the ones I've seen are quite a distance and it all boils down to finance while going for them. The employment structure is such that even with the good grade it's a bit difficult to get the job except for few lucky ones, I pray I get lucky soon. Thanks for your input.
