INNOCENT GUILT

Despite the campaigns against injustice in Nigeria, social injustice still prevails in the heart of man, as Miss Kofoworola Saheed may have found herself wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for trying to defend herself from a sexual assault.

Information gathered by SecretReporters revealed that 28 years old Miss Kofoworola, the only child of her parent who hails from Lagos State, in 2011 took a taxi cab to attend a friend birthday party.

After some minutes of the drive, the driver diverted the car to an unknown route and brought out a knife threatening to stab her if she does not cooperate by giving in to his sexual demand.

Her refusal was met with a fierce attack as she got stabbed during the struggle with her assailant, in a bid to save not just her life but also to protect her woman dignity she grabbed an object in the vehicle and in self-defense dealt a heavy blow on the driver’s head.

Eventually, the car rolled to a stop and in reaction to her shouts and call for help an Army Personnel came to her rescue but on sighting the near-conscious body of the driver with blood stains in her hands, he called on his colleagues who immediately started interrogating Kofoworola.

It was during this process that the taxi driver who had earlier assaulted the victim gave up the ghost. The Military men according to law handed over the case to the Nigerian police for proper investigation but alas she...

The jury was wise enough to send her back home which lots us don't know. The case happened in 2011 and this is 2019 which is 8yrs apart and if we get the months it really happened, it may be 7yrs and some months. Remember, all these while she has been in the prison because such case are not bailable. Now, she has been sentenced to 14years in prison and prison dates are not calculated as normal date. 1days make a 2days (morning and night) in prison, automatically, the 14years is just 7years and judgment like this usually commence when the case was brought before the court. Invariably, all the 7years she spent in prison was just the number of years the jury pronounced. She would be back home before you know.

God might have protected her for this 7years for things more worse than this. The bibble says, (forgotten the verse), you will face tribulations, and it will be what you would be able to handle. To us,it was wrong but to God, he knows better. Also,it may be because she's paying for sins of her father and grandfather as the bibble also states, I'd beckon the sins of 3 generations on everyone. (Not good in bibble,I guess you understand). Which sin(s) is she paying for, only God knows if at all she's paying for any.
