if there wasn't a first goal there would be no 2nd goal.I thought this was common sense
Stop thinking, you're not good at it.

Otherwise you would have realised that no football match in history was ever won by an equalizing goal.

The match wining goal is literally worth 2 more points than an equaliser.

This is not the question I asked you.

Who won the match between Burnley and Chelsea?
As u know, the match ended in a draw...

So,

thorrvik55:
So if the match was won 3-2, the most important goal would have been the 3rd goal and the other two goals dat made d scores level would be less important, right?
thorrvik55:
I meant if Burnley had won d match 3-2, the 3rd goal would be more important, right? Even though we both know dat without an equalising goal, there would be no winning goal in dat match...

If ur team is losing 2-1, how can you score a match winning goal if ur team mate does not equalize or if u don't score an equalising goal?

You lack computational ability.

I've been telling you since morning that i'm looking at how Salah and Hazard have directly impacted their clubs ffs. Abi Do players score points?

When I said spoke about match winning goals securing points for a club, what the fvck did you think I was talking about?

You've been there chatting nonsense about how all goals are equally important.

Oya explain 2008/2009 season na?

Same goal difference, same goals scored, same goals conceded, but 7 points difference - That should tell you that some goals are just more important than others. I mean it's basic common sense!
so the winning goal is the most important abi....
now let me take you down memory lane
athletico vs real madrid .uefa champions league final 1-4. with athletico leading 1-0,until the dying seconds when ramos equalized.so you are telling me the second madrid goal was more important than ramos's.

I did not stylishly dodge anything. Ask the man if he didn't go back to edit his post.

And now that i've read it, the question is not even a trick question, it's willfully obtuse. We're discussing match winning actions, and someone is talking to me about a 2-2 draw.

Oya let me ask you, who won that match? Thunder fire you if 'u stylishly dodge this' angry
You're analysing professional league games like street soccer, where winning a game (or set) is of utmost importance.

In professional football, while wins are more crucial, draws are also important in a number of instances, since with either a win or a draw, a team can earn some points, be it 1 or 3.

Winning a game or playing a draw is still far better than losing the match and dropping the whole 3 points.

Besides, goal difference occasionally becomes the key factor in deciding league winners. City might yet win this league based on their much higher GD in comparison with that of Liverpool.

So, scoring a lot of goals is (and has always been) important. All goals are crucial. You can't tell me that a player that scores an equalising goal in a league game, scored a trivial goal. If that team loses the tie and drops 3 points, that loss may prove costly later on, especially if they are title contenders.

A team winning the league is not directly proportional to the amountop of match winning goals scored by a player...
Imagine a player (A)scoring 10 match winning goals n being useless in d rest and another (B)scored about 24 goals like ...12 of those goals are equalising goals..5 are 2 settle d match maybe after they were 2 vs 1 up n d game was tense and d rest are just goal (maybe d one u termed abnormal or less important goals) nd dis same player gave 6 assists to player A who had the 10 match winning goals. ....who would u termed the most important player bw A nd Bhuh??

Guy i'm really struggling to follow this post, I wont lie.

Very simply.

My argument is very simple. The total amount of goals scored by a team is of less importance than the number of goals they score to guarantee games.

It is entirely possible to win all 38 league games 1-0, and goal difference will never ever ever be a factor

A real life example of this was 2008/2009 season where Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manyoo all scored 68 goals. Liverpool in 2nd place scored 77 goals and had a goal difference greater than Manyoo.

So when you say Hazard scored these many goals, and assisted these many, I'm looking to see how many of those goals actually put points on the table for us. Not goal difference that may not come in to play, but actual points.

Salah scored 9 such goals. Hazard around half of those.

The diagram u uploaded didn't show that it was match winning goals dat gave up the league. .
It could actually be a game won 3 vs 1 ..2 vs 0 ..4 vs 1 or even 4 vs 2........the runner up could score 5 vs 2 were the winner scored 2 goals. ....it could also be d runner up scored 3 vs 0 were d winner scored 4 vs 1..

So dis ur yardstick is 100% flawed. .....go on an bring d scores and how many were jst a difference of 1 vs 0 bw d winners vs the runner up

Abi 4 vs 2 and 2 vs 0...no b dsame go difference? huh??

If that is the case..lacazette is more important in arsenal than aguero in city? huh?
