Good day nairalanders, I just want to confirm how lucrative is selling of cement, Dangote cement to be precise. I reside in a developing area and I don't know much about this business. I have about 400k as capital for this. pls I need candid advice from someone that knows pros and cons of this business. Thank u.

A taller of cement sells for #2,050,000. How do u intend to start a business that requires 3m with 400k.

It's d same business I do, but I'll tell u to look elsewhere, because...
1. d business carries lots of creditors
2. No much profit, u need large turn ups to cover up expenses
3. Hard times during rainy season
4. U must need a delivery truck if u wanna sell well.
5. U can buy 1 trailer of cement today, and d price go crash tomorrow

Thank u, I just want to start on small retail o. I have people getting as little as 100 bags from trailer but I just need inputs to know how good the business is before venturing into it.

No distributor will give u 100 bags, minimum is 300 or 600 depending on individual.
And wen u see 100 bags, of about #240,000 ur profit is only #10,000.
Cement is not a type of business to start small, u either start normal or nothing.
