They are really the progressives but in the opposite direction!

APC was an alliance between parties and people with different ideology.the progressives in the party were relegated in the past 4years.

Anyone who even use progressive with apc need brain check up.

Under one govt within time frame of four years broke world most horrific record and broke the record of the worst govt in Nigeria history:

1. World poverty HQ

2. World record in children out of school

3. Among the first10 worst performing nation economically.

4. Lowest GDP in West Africa even tiny Benin Rep. ahead of Nigeria.

6. World most travelled president wasting billion of tax payer on useless gypsy travelling.

7. Among the poor and worst economy in Africa.

8. A killer fulani herdsmen terrorist protectorate administration first in Africa soil.

9. Among the first 10 underperforming president in the world.

10. The only country in human history since creation of humanity that over 20 million souls applying for a job under one institution(NNPC).

I can't mentioned all the lust is endless. Every body free to add their own pls the retrogrssion us appalling and can't be measure.

Chief Ebenezer Babatope, a former Minister of Transport and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday lambasted the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying there is nothing progressive about the policies and practices of the party.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Saturday INDEPENDENT in Lagos, Babatope, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the PDP also said claims by some people that the late Obafemi Awolowo would have been a member of APC if alive is a utter rubbish.

According to him, Awolowo while alive fought against oppression of the down-trodden and ensured fairness, justice and equity for all Nigerians irrespective of their ethnic, religious or social background. All these, he said are lacking in APC.

“The APC call themselves progressives but in actual fact. There is no political party that is progressive in Nigeria today. Anybody who says Papa Obafemi Awolowo would have been a part of them if alive is just saying nonsense and wasting his time.

“Awolowo believed very much in the plight of the common people and ensured that they have a fair share in the governance of the country. That is why Nigerians have not forgotten the likes of Awolowo today.

“Where is the progressivism in APC today? Under their government, people are dying right, left, back and centre in this country and yet they say they are progressives. Anytime I listen to the news in Nigeria today, the first major items are issues relating to killings, kidnappings and mass murder. What kind of progressiveness is that?

“I want to plead with them that they should kindly put the interest of Nigerians at heart. I am also placing it on record that Nigeria is greater than all of us and therefore we must do everything that will aid the cause of peace, justice and fairness in the country.

“But as it is now, there is nothing progressive about the APC. They are only progressive by name, not by conduct,” he said.

Formed in February 2013, the party is the result of a merger of Nigeria's three biggest opposition parties – the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the new PDP - a faction of then ruling People's Democratic Party.[13][14] The resolution was signed by Tom Ikimi, who represented the ACN; Senator Annie Okonkwo on behalf of the APGA; Ibrahim Shekarau, the Chairman of ANPP's Merger Committee; and Garba Shehu, the Chairman of CPC's Merger Committee.[15] Ironically, less than 2 years before the party's historic victory in the 2015 elections, Messrs. Annie Okonkwo, Tom Ikimi and Ibrahim Shekarau resigned from the party and joined the PDP.[16][17] [18]

The party received approval from the nation's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on 31 July 2013 to become a political party and subsequently withdrew the operating licenses of the three parties that merged (the ACN, CPC and ANPP). In March 2013, it was reported that two other associations – African Peoples Congress and All Patriotic Citizens – also applied for INEC registration, adopting APC as an acronym as well, reportedly "a development interpreted to be a move to thwart the successful coalition of the opposition parties, ahead of the 2015 general elections."[19] It was reported in April 2013 that the party was considering changing their name to the All Progressive Congress of Nigeria (APCN) to avoid further complications.[20]

In November 2013, five serving Governors from the governing PDP defected to the APC, as well as 49 legislators who joined the ranks of 137 legislators in the APC as a result of the prior merger of the smaller opposition parties.[21][22][23] This initially gave the APC a slim majority of 186 legislators in the Lower House out of a total of 360 legislators; however, subsequent political wrangling and pressure from political factions and interests outside the National Assembly of Nigeria, gave the party only 37 additional legislators thus giving the APC a nominal majority of 172 out of 360 Legislators, as opposed to the PDP's 171 (though some smaller PDP-allied parties hold the balance of the other seats.[24] This was further confirmed when the party seated 179 members on 15 January 2015 when the House resumed after a long recess to finally affirm its majority.[25] The governors who defected to the APC were Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State, Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State and Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State. It had been previously reported that Governors Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger State and Sule Lamido of Jigawa State were set to defect from the People's Democratic Party to the APC; however, both ended up remaining with the People's Democratic Party. In the 2015 elections, Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu ran as a senatorial nominee of the People's Democratic Party for the Niger State east senatorial district, losing in a landslide to the APC's David Umaru.[26]

On 12–13 December 2014, the APC was admitted as a consultative member into the Socialist International.[27]

On 4 July 2018, important members who were earlier identified as nPDP caved again out from APC to formed "Reformed APC" this is done ahead of 2019 general election. The formation of the R-APC made the opposition, the PDP the majority in the Senate.

Tinubu wanted to participate in government and contribute to government with a Lagos template with restructuring at the background ,he was never allowed to participate and contribute fully to government.They saw him has a threat to the future 20023 and also to maintain the staus quo and remain this way and not move an inch.They are now using propaganda against the man to discredit him ahead of 2023.

He was the one that set the template for fashola,templates takes years to come to reality .He created 57lcda,s in lagos ,and they have refused to recognize them even with his party in power,He increased the revenue generated in lagos and commenced infrastructural development has well has building a political structure from the grass root. Folwer has contributed more to this government without being noticed than anyone else .
