The NYSC is independent of the Army. It isn't the army that is redeploying; it is the president, don't you understand? What happened to the office of the president?

Constitutionally yes but have ever asked why the NYSC came to be,anyway whether independent or not ,military personnel are duty bond to serve tgtheir country and they answer to their C in C first and not the Presidency except the CinC says otherwise the Chief of Army staff is simply acting on his behalf.By the way the President engages the Army as the Commander In Chief not as the President which we use in our civic clime.

Nigeria right now is itself a violation of the law. More so, the Constitution is just a document since 29 May, 2015. The spirit of the law has been put to repose by this government. Only the letters are existing now.
Our hope is that soon, the pack of iniquities shall crumble and the spirit of the law shall be resurrected. Then, their atrocities shall catch up with them and sanity shall be restored to the land.

IPOB, the NYSC has come to stay. So deal with it.

Even if President Buhari made the appointment and did not announce it before leaving the country, then it is for the vice President (Osibanjo) to make it official and not the army. As a country, we may be plagued with a lot of challenges but let us try to get simple things like this right.

Is there any law that says only soldiers can be NYSC DG?

There are three observations...

1. NYSC is intended to build national cohesion. I look at the list of past DGs and I see that ita rotated between Hausa and Yoruba. Why?

2. Appointment of DGs in NYSC should rotate through the 36 states, alphabetically.

3. Our Generals are assigned to lower skill-level tasks, jobs below their pay grade. These Generals should be busy churning out new ideas and strategies for fighting urban terrorism and insurgency, not aspiring for NYSC and FRSC job. They should be devising new tactics in cyber and surveillance technology. Park well abeg!

biko help me ask what if the Commander in Chief gave explicit order to the Chief of Army staff to redeploy that Gentleman is duty is to first obey the orders before he start looking at the constitution or whatever document guide their rules of engagements.

Well Done,don't mind those hypocrites as if they wish any well for Nigeria,let them be waiting for the FG to gazette the deployment before they believe it was sanctioned by the Commander In Chief.

Which year?impossible,it is like saying a policeman became the Chief of the Army?I don't believe that the NYSC Act permits such a scenario for a policeman to be the DG of The NYSC.

this News got to that someone somewhere is calling the shots with or without the president approval... imagine NYSC a constituted body of govt is now been used for experiment...this shows that the president isn't aware of some appointments made by his office...shame. on this people by any moral standards, the people involved should have been sacked for gross insurbodination...
