How I wish the entire Yoruba race will present a common front. Aren't there enough eminent royal fathers and figures that can unite these waring factions?

The more the bickering between the Tinubu group and the Afenifere, the more the hope of a common Yoruba agenda become elusive.
Bros leave those Afenifebi... what is important is a clear vision of the right direction from Jagaban and some of them will either fall in line or die of frustration. even Jesus Christ was hated so is normal

* Vows Not To Recognise Buhari As President- Elect

Chief Ayo Adebanjo, elder statesman and leader of pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has described the 2019 presidential election won by President Muhammadu Buhari as a farce, saying he could not recognise him as president-elect.

In a chat with Daily Independent, Adebanjo expressed optimism that Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), would reclaim his mandate at the court.

He said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wrongly declared President Buhari as winner of the election.

He said: “The election was a farce. I don’t regard Buhari as president. Buhari was wrongly declared winner by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). When we get to court, we would know who the real president is.

“How can you call Buhari president with the way the presidential election was conducted in a 21st century Nigeria? Look at the elections, they were completely militarised. Corps members were openly kidnapped to rig the elections.

“Nobody would tell me such elections would be recognised by the court. We would not be violent. Let the court not ignore the evidence that would be put before it.”

Also speaking on the performance of Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of INEC, Adebanjo described it as woeful.

He said the 2019 election conducted under his watch was the worst in Nigeria’s history.

“He has performed below expectation. This election is one of the worst in the country’s history. The misrepresentation of Atiku at the collation centres, the cancelled votes and other irregularities show that there was no free and fair election.

“In so many states, there were irregularities. If you look at it well, Atiku won by more than three million votes, which Buhari claimed to have won.

“We would place all our facts in the judiciary and we know they would deliver.

“I am not one of those people who would say don’t go to court. Why would I say that? Atiku would get justice there. If he does not get justice, he would get justice in the view of the people because the people know the truth. I am telling the judiciary not to disgrace themselves by ignoring the fact.”

Also speaking on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s opposition to the restructuring of Nigeria, Adebanjo described him as a dishonest intellectual and a disgrace, saying it was surprising that Osinbajo and Bola Tinubu would be opposed to restructuring on which basis they were elected to office.

“The vice president is a dishonest intellectual. Tinubu and Osinbajo came to office on the basis of restructuring, and it was on the basis of restructuring that Osinbajo took Obasanjo to court when, during his time as president, Obasanjo did not release local government funds when he (Osinbajo) was the Attorney General in Lagos State.

“They are just turning blind eyes to it. I know him, he is my son.

“Intellectually, academically he is a first class, but he is a disgrace.

“Somebody who was born into restructuring is saying he does not know what restructuring is all about. His father and I were key followers of Awolowo.”

Also speaking on the elections, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, a former Minister of Transport, said he was not surprised at the outcome of the elections because he knew all along that the APC would manipulate the results.

Babatope, a member of the PDP’s Board of Trustees (BoT), however, said the PDP had not lost hope because the judiciary would right the wrongs just as it did with the Osun governorship election.

“I must confess that I am not surprised that APC manipulated that election. The matter is now before the tribunal and the PDP has already protested, but I knew all the time that APC was going to manipulate the 2019 elections and they did. But that notwithstanding, we have not lost hope.

“We believe we will have cause to celebrate when the tribunal delivers its judgment because the judiciary now is the only hope of the common man and it must ensure that it defends the interest of the common people of this country; otherwise, the country would have lost the right to call itself a democratic nation. “Buhari has come back under questionable circumstances and for which I am happy that Atiku Abubakar, our presidential candidate, has gone to the tribunal,” Babatope said.

I think age is beginning to tell on Pa Ayo Adebanjo. First he said 2019 presidential election was a farce. Secondly, he criticized the whole election process. Thirdly, he said Buhari never won the election and lastly he claimed that Atiku won by over 3million votes.

How can we reconcile all these claims?

Baba is already deluded. The money bags they received from Atiku has worked against them, so he needs to keep deceiving Atiku so that Atiku will not request for refunds. It is well with Baba.

I pray that God spare your life to see Buhari being inaugurated in May 29, and we await Atiku’s claim being thrown out in courts (High Court, Appeal Court and Supreme Court) for lack of merit, then baba will understand that ii is over with Ghana must go kind of politics that has killed our economy.

Every time Mr. Osinbajo opens his mouth, my jaw drops! Is this dude really a professor and a pastor?
Damn! Why the stupid lies? Must he tell lies? If Jesus were to come this very day, would this man even be acknowledged? If this man is a pastor, then I am the Pope! The one in the Vatican is just impersonating me!
CAN and PFN need to hold a meeting with Mr. Osinbajo...and advise him on the virtue of silence if he's incapable of the truth! Or better still, Pastor Adeboye should call him on phone and ask him to give his life to Christ!

Mr. Osinbajo, you're a disgrace and an embarrassment to Christendom! Shame!!!

Yoruba should not betray Osinbajo like they betrayed Awolowo and MKO

An Omoluabi in Yorubaland is a person of honor who believes in hard work, respects the rights of others, and gives to the community in deeds and in action.

Above all, an Omoluabi is a person of integrity and Prof. Osinbajo is one that embodies everything that upright Yorubas stand for, yet they some Afenifere leaders are not proud to associate with him because he does not engage in pot of porridge politics.

No honest Yoruba leader will attempt to paint Prof. Osinbajo in a bad light. He is putting Yoruba back on the Nigerian and global political map, as a people to reckon with.

We, as Yoruba people, really need to call Afenifere to order so that what happened to Chief Obafemi Awolowo and MKO Abiola does not befall him too in the grand scheme of things at national level. Oladele Olasunkanmi

They have been asking for the return to the 1963 constitution for 50years.You can see that they don't intend handing over to the vice president or tinubu or fashola, because they will avoid it by all means possible.so it is good to use double strategy aiming for the same goal post and defeat this wicked system.
The Igbos, then later Abokis who imposed this fucking unitary system used organized violence. They didn't ask or care what others feel. Mere political position or some redundant socio-political group can't effect restructuring. The only solution is organized violence. Again the Igbo and Aboki guys who imposed unitary system were of Adebanjo's generation. Rather than use the same extreme method, already used by others to get what they wanted, Pa Adebanjo and his generation of Yorubas settled for "irrational" diplomacy. This unwise move earned Yorubas the tag of "cowards" by people who would not hesitate to use organized violence if they could, to get what they want. In conclusion no body can effect the desired restructuring through politics. The only solution is organized violence but I guess we are not ready.

*Osinbajo is the honest intellectual, a blessing to our nation, Nigerian Youths respond to Pa. Ayo Adebanjo

Signed:
Prince Adetayo Adekunle
For and on behalf of the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Stakeholders.

Chief Ayo Adebanjo's obsession with his supposed "son" is no longer news. But the Chief's predilection to regurgitating lies and misleading claims is why we can no longer keep quiet.

Although we can wonder how come he enjoys bullying the VP. But we know that his allegiance and loyalty in the last several years have been to political leaders who looted our country dry and those who did absolutely nothing to advance Restructuring when they held sway. So we must remind Nigerians.
As a Yoruba man who is well schooled in customs, norms and mores, engaging an elder in public glare is not an easy path to thread.

However, it is apposite to state the existence of an old Yoruba axiom which holds that *"an elder who ties maize to his backside risks being turned into an object of mockery by chickens "*

For Pa Ayo Adebanjo to say that he doesn't recognize President Muhamadu Buhari as the country's President elect is not only laughable but even pathetic. May be the Chief is about to abandon his claims to being a democrat, otherwise how else can we interpret this rejection of the democratic choice of the Nigerian people?

Worse still, to describe "his supposed son", the erudite Professor of Law, authority on Law of Evidence, Life Bencher and Senior Advocate, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as "a disgrace and a dishonest intellectual" on the basis of what he terms denial of restructuring is utterly reprehensible. This obsession with the VP is not what noble elders are known for. And I say that with utmost sense of responsibility.

If Pa Ayo Adebanjo is not suffering from selective amnesia as well as senility associated with old age, he ought to know that Mr. Vice President has never denied that the country needs restructuring.

Responding to a question at a public forum hosted by the Sigma Club, University of Ibadan on Saturday, 27th October, 2018, Prof Osinbajo asserted as follows:

*"I am not a latter day convert to restructuring. I am an active practitioner of restructuring and I have gone to the Supreme Court about 13 times to test restructuring "*.

In all of the cases pursued by HE Prof Yemi Osinbajo as AG Lagos, the then government led by Pa Ayo Adebanjo's newfound bedfellow, the Jada born Atiku Abubakar and his principal, Oloye Olusegun Obasanjo opposed every step along the way.

Conversely, the Buhari/Osinbajo led administration signed a constitutional amendment granting financial autonomy to State Judiciaries and Houses of Assembly - an amendment that suffered several abortions under the misrule of Pa Ayo Adebanjo's friends.

Conclusively, Pa Ayo Adebanjo is urged to speak like a true Yoruba elder and Afenifere that he claims to be and not seek to denigrate the highest political office holder from the Yoruba race on the altar of crass opportunism, bitter opposition politics and chronic jealousy.

I don't think so. Sorry to disappoint you. This one is one of the fools we have in the SW parading themselves as our elders. We know them, we know where they belong to.

the same way you guys always abused obj for his views but when its done against mr Tinubu, you will begin to cry about how Yoruba respect elders and all that bullshitt..
Tinubu doesn't care what names you call him, that's your headache. I don't care either, call him what you like. We know that he's leaders' maker, that's what is important.

every man is entitled to his own opinion..
Really! But you just felt that I wasn't entitled to my opinion. You wouldn't have typed this epistle. Lol

and it seems like it can be seen in the just concluded elections 1.7 million of us Yorubas actually agree with his view.
you APC sw has alot of work to do with your SW 2023 agenda with the way you abuse and bully fellow yorubas opposed to your view,
It looks like you're the one having nightmare about "SW 2023 agenda" here. It is not business, not my headache.
