Declaration Of June 12 As Democracy Day: Can It Ever Hold by HisSexcellency(op): 7:35am On May 02, 2019
President Mohammad Buhari last year declared June 12 as "democracy day", what this means is that the previous date of May 29th will no longer be recognized as a public holiday.

I remember some lawyers saying that the national assembly need to pass this into law or something like that for it to take effects otherwise it's just a mere pronouncements by the President, as he does not have the constitutional powers to unilaterally create a national public holiday at will.

With May 29 fast approaching, will the declaration made by Mr President last year still going to hold or are will heading for failed promised.
