Yes please upload to avoid issues. Try and resize the passport picture to their specifications

Unfortunately, you can only apply for us vida from your country of residence as they Visa officers there would be able to determine your eligibility or not. There are interview dates for May in Abuja if you want a fast one, you can try it.

2. I have been trying to create a profile as a new user to schedule but the system cannot allow that. It says the system admin has been notified.
3. based on the response you gave above, I decided to use Abuja instead of Lagos.

Please, what are my chances of getting a date before my travel date?
how can I create an account in order to schedule? Do i have to pay before? I could not see such information.

Hmmmmm. Too many loop holes and lies. How did your brother travel? Student visa or visitors visa?

Earliest date in abuja is August so you’ll have to keep checking in case they release an earlier one. Always say the truth, if they don’t give you, you can always try again than lying. When they ask you why are you traveling, going for vacation. Simple and straight answers. All the best next time but please be honest

Did you fill the forms by yourselves and is this the first time of applying for us visa? I doubt a change of name has anything to do with it. It could either be the application or your brothers status. If your brother is graduating and you haven’t seen him in 12 years, did he go to US with a study visa or changed it from there? If he left on a visit and never returned, then the chances of you n your mum going and not coming back is high. You can always try again and hopefully it becomes successful.

But @the bolded may not exactly be correct, especially if the previous passport already got expired before you went about the renewal process, my wife did hers in Asaba previous year without us breaking a sweat, and even at almost the going rate at the time. Well, I won’t be surprised to hear too that NIS has reverted to the Abuja approach on this anyways....

You are correct. I renewed mine in my town in April. At the going rate. Only took a week

How did your brother get to the US aunty?
Your mum’s maiden or married name may not necessarily be the reason for the refusal unless she maybe applied before with another husband’s name and now another name.
The issue here imo is around the fact that you haven’t seen your brother for 12years and you are going for a graduation which course shouldn’t exceed like let’s say 4years or thereabouts.

I was scheduling my appointment and I was routed to visa waiver confirmation letter. I am not qualified for such as I am not over 80 years, have not been to US before and I have never applied for US visa before.

I called their helpdesk and they asked me to send my data page and receipt that I was wrongly routed.
