Tension heightened as Gen. Yakubu Gowon, former Nigerian Head of State, slumped mid way during the oration at the grave side of late Maj Gen David Akpodiete Ejoor, in Ovwor-Olomu Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

This is coming just as military personnel fruitlessly made efforts to bar visual coverage of the ugly incident. The former Head of State was promptly rushed by some top echelons of the military into the special tenth for emergency resuscitation, just as Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa and Chief James Onanefe Ibori, former Governor of the Delta State dashed into the tenth to ensure he recovers.

Military as well as the Delta State ambulances were immediately moved closed to the tent, in case the former Head of State’s health deteriorates further. After a moment of suspense, Chief James Onanefe Ibori and Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa were seen coming from the special tenth, an indication that the former Army General has recovered.

It's been a long time I responded to funny people on nairaland. Oga, please, do you realise that Midwest was a part of the internationally recognised political entity called Nigeria? And that an army officer seized a part of that entity and made ot his own? Do you think the war was about 4 different countries where people would decide who was neutral or not? The fact that FG tried to accommodate Ejoor is a testament to Gowon's large heart. It's not surprising to me that Ibo would rather die than admit they destroyed this fledgling country. It's same problem of all Black nations: they cannot admit their failings and hence don't learn. Let me also state: it wasn't some people that just happened to be of Ibo ethnicity that caused this problem; it is the entirety of Ibo people, including ordinary people on the street who started to mock northerners and even released a mockery album. I only wish Murtala was Head of State. Even Achebe would not have lived to write that stupid book of his. You think war is an international friendly? (lol). You lionise the wicked man who would destroy the whole world to get power. Ojukwu is part of the reason why I know there's no God in human affairs. He destroyed this country, killed 1 million children and women of his own ethnicity, yet lived in luxury and died in old age of natural causes, and buried with full military honours to the adulation of all Ibo people. Good the gods + karma has caught up with him.

He headed the massacre of innocent unarmed, civilian villagers in Asaba during the civil war in 1967 through Muritala Mohammed, and karma was just laughing at them in spiritual powers then.

These people summoned all Asaba villagers for a meeting and instructed Nigerian military to shoot everybody on sight, humans were falling like packs of joker card

Have they ever repented and publicly and sincerely apologized to Asaba and Ndigbo like other nations did after their own civil war NO!

During war, no matter what u are not allowed to kill civilians, children, women, aged people. You should face fellow armed soldiers or else u are a cowardly Muslim terrorist groups like Boko Haram, ISIS, etc that only kill.unarmed civilians but chicken out when real military confront them (not lily livered Hausa-Fulani compromised Nigerian military oh )
