The data shows that only SE deserve accolades. SW = Lagos and its extension into ogun. Former federal capital with infrastructural monopoly. Minus this territory the rest generate nothing SS = oil, with fraudulent boundary adjustments that ceded SE oil to it NW = 7 large states. Very poor in terms of per capita or per km square SE = 5 small states. The only region whose economy is the resourcefulness of comon citizens 2 Likes 1 Share |

MXr8p: Are you aware that it is only in igboland that there is no old historical buildings that are up to 70 years. Why? While the North, Middle Belt, Calabar, Warri, Benin in the South South and South West were living in great structures, Igbos were living in huts built with thatched leaves. That's the reason why you see brown roofs. Some of them are as old as 90/100 years old. Old London structures cannot be compared with those of Manchester while the structures in New York are way older than those in Washington. Only igboland, in the whole of Nigeria that cannot produce 100 years old human settlements. It's because you living in tiny hamlets like early men. The colonialists met you in this state. Get that to your skulls. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Shut up you know nothing. Why you cannot find mud houses and rustic roofs in the SE,and SS is because these areas were renewing their buildings and environment over time. We hate old relics and dilapidated homes like you have in Ibadan and other yoruba states Onitsha is older than Ibadan but you cannot find a single mud house in the city, but in Ibadan mud houses are very common. Old houses in the old part of Onitsha, PH, Calabar etc, are being redeveloped into modern houses while yorubas are still stuck in 1500. Even northern states are redeveloping their cities look modern except yorubas. Very shameful, no wonder every yoruba man is from Lagos because they ashamed to point at their real state of origin. MXrep: Many parts of Benin city, ile ife, Ibadan, oshogbo, abeokuta, ilesa, Warri, calabar, ilesa, oshogbo etc had zinc roofs as early as 1910-1920. That cannot be said of the present locations in the East. AND IF YOU THINK SO, POST THE PICTURES. I know you dare not because the thatched roofs were the order of the day till almost independence! Refute it and let's see This is not for mouth. 2 Likes |

farem: Onitsha, port and market town in Anambra state, southern Nigeria. The town lies on the east bank of the Niger River just south of its confluence with the Anambra River. Founded in the early 16 century, it grew to become the political and trading centre of the Igbo kingdom of Onitsha. Its monarchical system (rare among the Igbo people) was patterned after that of Benin. An Onitsha obi (“king”) negotiated in 1857 with William Balfour Baikie, a British trader, for the establishment of a British trading post in the town. Onitsha remains the chief entrepôt for goods coming upstream from the Niger River delta and those transported downstream from towns on the Niger and Benue rivers. Roads lead to the town from Enugu and Owerri, and the completion in 1965 of the 4,606-foot (1,404-metre) bridge across the Niger River to Asaba provides Onitsha with a direct road link to Benin City and Lagos. Palm oil and kernels are the most important local exports, but yams, cassava (manioc), corn (maize), citrus fruits, palm produce, rice, taro, fish, and beef also are traded in the Onitsha market. The market building, one of the largest in Nigeria, was destroyed in 1968 in the Nigerian Civil War (1967–70), but it was rebuilt. The town is the site of the Roman Catholic Holy Trinity Cathedral (1935) and the Anglican All Saints Cathedral (1952). Its oldest secondary schools, including the Dennis Memorial Grammar School (1925; Anglican), St. Charles Teacher Training College (1929; Roman Catholic), and Christ the King College (1933; Roman Catholic), are noted for their academic excellence. 2 Likes |
