See how the Man was shaking and trembling like a child,no confidence to defend himself...
Thank God for the judge..
Well according to the type not offence, one is sent to that judge
Small-small offences.
There's one that one white girl entered taxi, for like 50km, (30miles) then refused to pay. 50km is like from V.I to Eleko. Or VI to Ikeja.
The judge sentence her to WALK the 50km or go to jail. The yeye girl Waka the journey sweat well-well. Police following her behind
He gives light punishment

He's an Igbo man. Never comfortable anywhere. Once you say "Home", his mind automatically assumes village in Naija.

If you want to refer to where he sleeps daily, say "House".
That's how they reason

Going to jail abroad seems better than being deported back to Nigeria.

I don’t wish for any of the options though
Says who?
Stop deceiving Nigerians, I work in the jail as a certified correction officer.
No Nigerian will ever like to be jail here in the united states due to so many factors like food, intimidation and harassment, background etc.

The author of this write up can lie sha! Hahahah Wetin happen na ? The African only asked an honest question and the was “ I am gonna go to jail from here or I am gonna go home and the Judge answered u are not going to jail and u are also going home and at the end of the whole drama, the case was dismissed because there was no sign that says the man couldn’t make a right turn. There was nothing like Nigeria or deportation in the matter.

One of the most compassionate judges in America: I remember seeing a video clip of him treating a case of man down on his luck, poor without money and ill health, for failing to pay a traffic violation fine; the man was accompanied by a female friend who pleaded on his behalf explaining his unfortunate circumstances (it was so sad, I even cried while watching); I was quite impressed with how the judge listened, then reduced the man's fine and gave him an unlimited time to pay - effectively until when he could pay, even if it took eternity.

Granted him bail or strikes out the case? After reviewing the video it now happens that the man never violates any traffic rules.

The home he meant was his house not Nigeria. Trust bloggers to add salt and pepper, no where in America will you be deported for turning at a red light.
But you can be deported if you come accross a strict judge who hands you over to immigrations department after he's done fining you. From the man's body language, it's easy to tell he's an illegal immigrant and the "home" he's referring to is indeed his country. He knows lot of people have been deported as a result of the slightest infringement of the law, that's why he's scared like that

The caption isn't wrong. If you watched the entire video, you will realize the OP is correct.
"Home" in the video doesn't mean Nigeria.

"Home" in the video means wherever he lives in the U.S. cos he actually said "thank God" when he heard that he was going home from the court.

Nobody gets deported for such a trivial offence. Las las e go pay fine. And he is most definitely a legal resident sef if not a citizen.

According to a video making rounds online, the Nigerian man in response to all the questions asked by the Chief Judge Frank Caprio, painstakingly asked "if he would be sent back Nigeria or sent to prison".

Come back wherehuh

Nobody gets deported for trivial offended true, but if you're an illegal immigrant, the most trivial offense can land you in a deportation cell. The man is most likely an illegal immigrant, that's why he's visibly scared.
