It's a complicated issue...not just one or two reasons can be adduced for this. But the primary reason is that slavery (the one carried out by Arabs as well as the Europeans) caused a huge social and psychological dislocation among the black African populace (whether they're found in Haiti, the US, Britain or sub-saharan Africa). The fact that Africa now has live with the fall-out of colonialism and the ongoing effects of neo-colonialism isn't helping as well.

when are we going to stop blaming the whites and slavery and colonialism for our woes? Fact is, without the whites coming to colonise africans, we might still be practising things like killing of twins. We are where we are because of the choices we make. Blacks hate each other period and that's why we have remained backward. We know what is right always but we tend to do the wrong things. Our mentality is very bad and until we change it, we are going nowhere.

Whites receive directly from governments. Haiti has the most NGO's.... Nigeria has it's share.... Black countries are where they are concentrated. What exactly have they done to make a difference? Most of these NGO's are funded by their home countries..... they receive monies to carry out their intended purpose...but do they? Most of that money is pocketed under operational expenses....but you always see them 'helping poor, hungry. homeless and hopeless Blacks'. Don't be deceived.

Those blaming slavery must be high on something. The black man's problem is his mentality. Sometimes i just watch these marathon races just so i could look and admire how neat and organised the european,american, asian streets are. There is nothing stopping nigeria from fixing or building new refineries so that things might be better but it hasn't been done. In america and everywhere else, the dirtiest and robbery ridden neighbourhoods are always the black dominated areas. We shoot and kill eachother regularly because of gang wars, fight over turfs so that we can continue with our illegal activities, cultism, money rituals, the list goes on. Stop blaming the whites abeg.

Missionary Bobby Burnette had a vision from God. It was several years ago, while walking on the undeveloped land in Fond Parisien, Haiti that had been donated to Love A Child.

At the time, he was praying to God for guidance. The Love A Child ministry had been given a huge parcel of land, but how were they to use it to best serve God’s kingdom? Looking over the many acres of scrub, he suddenly had a vision of hundreds of brightly colored houses. He saw beautiful homes on streets lined with lush gardens.

Bobby was confused. He guessed that God was instructing him to build houses, but he had no idea where he was to find the people to live in them! All those years he waited, confident that God would eventually provide the answer.

It's history
The black man has no history beside slavery.
Our history in school is white/Arab history.
Ask a black child to mention his hero/heroine and you can be sure a white/Arab man would be mentioned.
The Asian, Caucasian and Arabs all have histories they are very proud of.
And of course we are saddled with thugs and agents as our leaders.

Very good question... Haiti, the black nation that managed to escape being inside Africa. You would think that they would have done well for themselves because of how close they are to USA and Canada. But alas it is of no difference than its sister nations in Africa.

I'm tempted to research about the Origins of Africans. Scientists say that our brain as people in Africa is not inferior to that of the White folks.Therefore the problem of Africans isn't biological.

Perhaps Africans are suffering from a spiritual problem or maybe "we are still suffering from the impact of slavery" is a plausible explanation.

God bless America for the work of her missionaries in world impoverished regions. American missionaries and their individual Christians are the ones giving most to the poor around the world in this time. I see their givings on tv, on social media and in person towards helping the poorest of the poor around the world. Why will God not bless their country. Givers never lack.

That part of Christianity is not in their bible. They always skip that part of the Bible
Jesus Christ spoke openly to everyone. He didn't select his audience. He even climbed until of a hill and for 3 days proclaimed his message of peace. Everybody heard it. People asked question and he answered them.

Whey then do people choose to follow pastors that proclaim only ONE or TWO things that Jesus said, then throw away the remaining 99 things, like they never heard it?

This one is for ordinary man. Then for a pastor, who is even "closer" to God, do you think your own sacrifice should not be greater?

You will go and tell God, "I allowed the poor to suffer and die , because I had already done enough for some selected few of my favourite" (and broadcast it on TV for everybody to see).

You and the guy you quoted are very insensitive to the plight these guys went through during trans Atlantic slave trade.

Go and research, read about the atrocities of slavery on the blacks. There has not been any people in the past 1000years that suffered what those guys went through. Not even the horror that the Jews suffered in the hands of Adolf Hitler from 1939 to 1945(just 6yrs). Slavery was for almost 250years. The Jews up till today are crying about the Holocaust, but that is a child's play compared to the horrors of black.
Do a research to see the horror these guys went through.

So like I said, most of you are very insensitive

Coming to Africa
When the Europeans were leaving, they never gave power to the educated part of the countries they colonised.
Rather they empowered the less educated tribes to the detriment of the educated tribes.
This was there modus operandi throughout black Africa. From Nigeria, to Congo to Rwanda etc and this has been the bane of Africa.
Look at Nigeria, the Yoruba's, Igbo's and other tribes in the southern part are inclined to education, and they are doing well in foreign lands were they reside, but the foundation of Nigeria, gave power to the North.
Nigeria would have been more developed or even advanced if the South was more in the driving seat or had a complete say in how there system operates. If its a lie look at Lagos, with small bit autonomy they have had since the advent of democracy since 1999, they have done favourably well. If the entire southern Nigeria had complete say in how there system operates, they would have been far advanced by now. We beat even oyibo for school within there own domain. So that is the plight of Africa.
