Cristiano Ronaldo and his family arrived in Marrakech to visit the site of his latest 'CR7' hotel venue, ahead of it's opening in early 2020, MySportDab reports.

Ronaldo and Portugal's top hotel chain, Pestana, will open a new hotel in the Moroccan city next year and hope to double their brand in three to five years.

The Juventus superstar took to Instagram to share a photo of himself stood aside a banner of the hotel.

"Site visit to the future Pestana CR7 Marrakech, opening early 2020, our next and most exciting hotel," wrote Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is following other sports stars who have invested in hotels, including Andy Murray, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs - but Ronaldo's venture has global ambitions.

The new project, the fifth hotel under the Pestana CR7 brand - a trademark combination of Ronaldo's initials and jersey number - will rent the 160-room hotel for 20years and manage it, said Pestana Hotel Group Chief Development Officer Jose Roquette.
