Some of us might be wondering what the difference is between HUAWEI Y6 Prime 2018 and Y6 Prime 2019. I have even heard people whisper that it is just a rebranding strategy. Well, I’ve had the opportunity of handling the HUAWEI Y6 Prime 2019 and I’m here to clear your doubt. There are a good number of differences between both phones, but I will highlight two that are very obvious. By my next post I would have discovered more.
Screen.While the HUAWEI Y6 Prime 2018 has a 5.7” display which works just fine for viewing and gaming, the HUAWEI Y6 Prime 2019 has the famous Dewdrop Display with bigger screen-to-body ratio adding up to 6.09”. It is patterned after the new-generation bezel-less screen design for a more premium feel and performance.
Body and Design
This one is very obvious. Both reveal three deluxe colors but very different designs. HUAWEI Y6 Prime 2018 comes in Blue, Black and Gold all designed with polycarbonate material while HUAWEI Y6 Prime 2019 comes in Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black and Amber brown. The Sapphire blue and Midnight black are designed with fine reflective materials that produce a shimmering effect when light hits it, while the Amber brown is made with leather-like material that does not retain fingerprints. So far, HUAWEI Y6 Prime 2019 is a massive upgrade of Y6Prime 2018.
