Like governor Ganduje, A Kano governor once deposed Emir of Kano and appointed many Emirs too because of the political disagreement of that era. His name was Abubakar Rimi.

Here's the interview he granted Ogun state television in 1982 on the matter. It didn't end well for him. Watch the video below.

lol why you dey talk like this now. Governor ganduje ought not to have dismantle the emirates. Alot of kingmakers in Kano state took ganduje to court. Ganduje can't win this case in the court. Alot of court cases hanging on his neck.

I sincerely hope the status quo is restored cos our traditional institutions shouldn't get so weak.

Despite advancement and modernization some countries still protect the sanctity and supremacy of their traditional institutions Nigeria should not for any reasons (especially political) weaken theirs

The real reason is that the governors are threatened by the influence of the Emir. Emir of Kano is an institution and respected more than the government. All I see is the inferiority complex of the governors.

Government is a continuum. When due process is followed the firm intention of Government will endure.
