I have just bought a minibus for the haulage of goods for my business. I am however at a loss on whether to obtain a commercial or private plate number. Please advise me as some people say LASTMA disturbs haulage buses with private number.

what happens in the case where the owner wants to use the van for haulage of his own goods? what plate number do you recommend?

I currently have a ford transit van which had a commercial plate number, I tell you guys the way i get stopped all the time from different local government operators, road safety, police and so on is getting on my nerves.
When they see the red plate number they obviously think I am a commercial driver, then expecting their ''Egunje'' but I always disappoint them cause all my documents ( both local, state and federal) fire extinguisher, C caution, jack, spare tire, wage are all complete.

But at the end of the day you get delayed, which is one of the more reasons i put up the van for sale on this site in order to get another one so i can get a private plate number on it. I see other vans with commercial plate number carrying goods, so i guess that will not be a problem or will it?

What of buses not used for business .

I have a personal bus with private number but I was surprise when roadsafety stopped me saying it must be registered as commercial . Is this true

Confusion everywhere, and the government responsible to this will not come out to educate the masses or to clear the coast
