messi really tried for barcelona this season. I think he would have advanced to the final of UCL but his team mates have been wasteful and toothless in front of goal.

I'm not sure you know much about football. Nothing special about premiership yet all four teams in the two main European Championships are from England. Liverpool even best Barcelona with messi missing in action, 4 - 0 yet you say nothing special about English league. Messi is playing in a one-man team that is in a two team league ( only barca and Madrid) and that's one of the reason why he can score 50 goals. Not the premiership, that even a team as good as Manchester City has to be top notched every game if they don't want to be disgraced by small Newcastle.
