I'm afflicted from BDD (Body dysmorphic disorder). It has negatively impacted my life in nearly all aspects and I can't continue to live like this anymore so I'm desperately seeking a psychologist.

From what I've seen, psychologists aren't that common in Nigeria and I'm afraid I won't be able to find a qualified one who can properly identify and redress my condition. I've tried counselling before and it wasn't an encouraging experience; It didn't help me in any way whatsoever.

I'd much appreciate it if anyone can recommend a professional who deals with BDD or mental disorders in general.

Social Work in Nigeria is now up too the task and Lagos social welfare is still the best in Nigeria. Body dysmorphic disorder is a mental disorder and for proper diagnosis and treatment, a proper background check would be done. I'd advise you get an experience social worker who would be of great assistance..
